Most schools make decisions holistically, and the GMAT and interviews are one of those data points used.

Re: Calling all Oxford Said MBA Applicants: 2022 Intake [Class of 2023] [#permalink]
Hi everyone,
Re: English Language waiver
My background:
I have a 4-year bachelor's degree (2010-2014) delivered in the English language.
From 2014 till the present, I have been working in a professional environment with English as the only medium of communication.

I read all the comments above and had a question about the English language waiver but am still not clear on what path everybody is taking in lieu of the changed requirements since last year.
I somehow missed the "majority English-speaking country" part in the professional waiver section and haven't given the TOEFL/IELTS yet. (Had my documents ready for Oct 13 deadline.
I reached out to Adcom and got a generic reply as on the website for professional waiver.

Can someone please guide me on what should be my next step?
1) Should I give a home TOEFL iBT on 9-10th October? I know it is going to be really tough to ace in such a short amount of time but even if I do, is it okay that the official report would reach later? Will that be a problem?
2) Should I just select the professional waiver option and let the Adcom get back to me if the test is required? Will I be rejected rightaway just because I do not meet the waiver requirements?
3) Should I apply in the next round?

Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

I got a reply from adcom on the professional waiver saying that you need not be in an English speaking country for requesting it. I am moving forward with the professional waiver request. Toefl results take 6 days to finalize, hence not taking it now.

This is the reply I got:

You would not be eligible for the language test waiver due to studying in English because you graduated from your degree more than two years ago. However if you use English every day at work you are eligible for the professional language test waiver.

Thank you so much, both. It really helps to know there are people in the same boat as I am.

I had another question (and it applies to Judge's application as well) -

In the Work experience section, they have asked to write about "responsibilities, achievements, and challenges" but it is located under the current role section. My current role is only 10 months old, should I supply challenges/achievements from this role or my past 6 years of experience is also applicable? I had already written the responses and just had a thought that maybe I am not approaching it correctly.

Any idea if we can make notes while preparing for the questions asked on Kira Talent during the online assessment?

Do we have to complete online form , with references & Kira interview by 13th Oct ?

or is it just the online form deadline & Kira Interview can be done after that ?

Also about references - do references get some grace period ?

As far as my research goes, you need to submit your section (excluding LoRs) well in time for the video interview link to appear (anytime between 6-24 hrs). The Video responses and the LoRs should be submitted by 13th.

How long have you been thinking of getting an MBA and why now?" / "How long have you been considering doing an MBA and why now is the right time? What specific skills are you looking to gain at Oxford?" what skills are you looking to gain?
