So, from US News I have the following info:

Total Applicants for Fall 2009 admissions = 2697
Lets assume that 61% were invited for interviews ~ 1645 applicants
No. of acceptances = 630 (23.4% acceptance rate) (38% accepted after interview)
Total Full Time class strength = 500

If we apply that only 30% will be invited for interview with more or less the same no. of applicants, we will end up at around 850 invites. Now to fill a class of 500, they would need to send more or less the same no. of invites (~630) which in turn means that 74% students will be accepted after interview.

To me it seems a bit unreal from a statistical standpoint!
For what it's worth, R1 Stats for GMAT Club:
% Interviewed:55%
% Of Interviewees Accepted: 78%

Our data is naturally skewed, but the sample size (107 applicants) is large enough to make some reasonable comparisons. In past years, we've usually been within 10% of the overall acceptance rate.

One question regarding the hire right verification check. If I have different external title (from department manager) from internal title (from HR), what will they verify? In my company, different functions in the same level will have the same internal title, so we have our external title based on our real job duties. But Hire Right only can verify from HR, shall I explain to them first?

Just talk to them about what to expect and you won't have a problem. Have you gotten the request to begin the process yet?

Will they call me to begin the process? I thought they will just verify and let me know the result.

The admitted students binder says they'll email us to begin the process. You have to pay $55 for the employment verification. That it costs $55 tells me it won't be an in-depth check.

Is it possible to review my app that I already submitted? I wanted to check something, but it won't let me scroll through the app. When I log back in it acts as if I am starting a new app.

Any one know how this works.

R2 applicant. Received an email from Ross that I need to request an official score report for them - wasn't aware this was necessary until admit.

From: https://www.applyweb.com/apply/umross/ click on "Review Your Activity." Type your username/password and then click on "View Print Copy" on the right side of the page.

You can't open any documents you uploaded to the system (essays/resume).

Under Review Your Activity > Submitted Forms there is an option on the right to View Print Copy of app.

Hi all,

Apologies in advance if I'm asking about a topic that has already been discussed.

Are interview invites still being sent out? When did they start? When will they finish?

Thanks,

the piece of paper in the binder lists exactly what they're planning to verify. however, I'm fairly sure zero companies would sit on the phone and give a company like hireright a list of "duties" associated with an employee's job... save for perhaps, a grocery store clerk. $55 actually seems like an awful lot considering they're only doing "employment verification". you can google what companies pay for mass verifications and it's not very much.

I guess all I meant was that they aren't going to spend a whole lot of time probing. I'm not sure what the cost per hour of running an employment verification service is, but spending more than 10 minutes on the phone and researching is going to start to eat into profits pretty quickly.

My "HR" center is full of 19 year-olds who aren't either aren't going to be able to answer anything or will end up reading my SSN over the phone without prompting. I'm fairly certain I'm going to need to sit next to whomever takes the call.

wow that's scary. I think if you're a small business (100+ employees), hireright charges about $14 per verification. the FCRA doesn't let just anyone perform a check regardless of authorization. BUT... if we incorporate a quick LLC, maybe we can work out a deal with ross and all save $40 :)

I asked my HR department what happens during these types of verifications, and they said they simply give hire title, current title, and salary. No job duties or anything.
