Ross is using Re Vera Services this year for their background checks:

https://reveraservices.com/

Per the admitted binder, it has to be initiated by 5/1.

Going by their site is says they verify extracurricular involvement. U guys think mba programs go that far?
That definitely seems like the kind of thing that b-schools would want to verify, so I just assume that it happens.

I would guess they only check out ECs if they are 'outrageous' claims ie Founded a non-profit or something along those lines.

A lot of ECs that most of us have are near impossible to verify (no public records, etc) that I wouldn't think they go that far. However, as long as you were truthful on the application it doesn't matter what they check.

There was no section on the Ross application for extracurricular activities, you only had the option to embed them in your essays.

Applicants from India or any International applicant for that matter, how are you going to arrange for loans? This year onwards ROSS is not facilitating student loans to international students without a US co-signer

I'm Class of 2014 for the Weekend MBA program and currently living and working in Ann Arbor. I'd like to know if there is a forum for finding potential housing or room mate arrangements.

Also, if anyone has questions about the Ann Arbor area, I'm willing to help. I am an Engineering grad from UMich and have mostly lived on North Campus so Central Campus housing pretty new to me as well.

For those who will accept Ross, how are you approaching the housing situation?

Good question, Jaas. For me, I haven't and am not planning on doing so until GBR. With $75,000 in tuition and living expenses, I want to keep rent low while still living within walking distance of campus. For me, that probably means trying to find roommates.

I'd love to hear how everybody else is handling it.

You could join the "unofficial" facebook group or the google group. Not sure how they controlling access to either of those.

Can you provide a link to those? So far, I've been unable to find them.

Thanks.

40%-50% are invited to interview. I believe they accept approximately 70% of those

But i'm looking at their stats in 2010:

2722 Applied

691 Accepted

488 Enrolled

If 45% of the application pool got interviewed, thats 1,225 people.

So the number of people accepted (691) means there is only a 56% acceptance rate for those interviewed. Far from 70%.

So either the rought estimate of the number of people interviewed (40-50%) or the rough estimate of number of interviewees accepted (70%) is wrong. Or both.

Your math is right. It seems as if most schools have numbers around 50% (interviewees receiving an offer for admissions). For obvious reasons, I am hoping that her figures for this year are correct.

Hey,

I noticed that there is a non resident column which has an x for just one of the scholarships. Does this mean the others are not open to international applicants?

Cheers,

Dylan.

GoBruin

There are also some people who said that they weren't told about scholarships on the phone but received smaller scholarships when they received their admit package.

Any quantitative estimate on what "smaller" means? Anything less than $10k?

I was probably the person GoBruin was referring to about a smaller scholarship.

To clarify, they mention any Ross Scholarship on the the phone (I am not 100% certain on this but most were told on the call or in the follow up email they send), but some institute/programs offer their own such as Tauber and Erb institutes (if you apply to them). I received no money from Ross but received some money from the Tauber Institute that I was not told about on the call. I found out in my acceptance package.
