Go to the campus for the interview, if you haven't already visited. It re-iterates reinforces your interest. If you have already visited, then do whatever method you are most comfortable with.

I totally understand your point and I really wish to do so but the thing is i am all the way in another side of the world. Flying there would cost me a lot. So i am considering skype or off campus. Posted from my mobile device

How about between Skype vs Alumnus face to face interview? Some say that Skype, which will be taken by adcom, is far more objective and fair, whereas face-to-face with Alum is not that predicable... more like hit or miss situation.

I think it depends on where you are. If you're in a big city where you're fairly certain there are alums, I bet the adcom would rather you interview with one. If you're in the middle of nowhere, they'd probably understand Skype more. With the adcom, depending on how many interviews they have to do on Skype, they'll be more likely to have people to compare you to than an alum would, which may or may not help you depending on how well you think you stack up compared to the competition.
