Hey towski, thanks for letting me know. It does help a bit to know that others have had a similar experience, but still it will be difficult not to worry or overanalyze for the next few days I guess.

Don't worry my friend, if you look at last year's thread, there were folks with fantastic interview experience who were dinged. Also, my friend does alumni interviews (not for the GSB), and she always smiles / laughs / looks engaged and interested. But let me tell you she is one hard person to impress, frequently concluding in her reports that certain candidates are simply not a fit for the school. The interviewers who are more relaxed (i.e. off the script) are possibly more experienced and you never know whether you passed or failed the test. :)

I recently had my interview as well, and I certainly felt that the interview was not quite conversational. While the interviewer was super nice, she had a ton of follow-up questions, especially the "Tell me about a time when ... " type. She had some kind of a sheet that Stanford must have provided as guidance for interviews as well. But overall, I thought I did well, though in retrospect I could have answered very differently if I had like more time to think about it.

But at least I am happy that the wait is short now. Less than ten days to D-Day. Good luck everyone!

Hey everyone! Seems like there was a trend last year of recommender names "disappearing" shortly before getting accepted. Do they mean from the application itself? My home page just says "interview completed" at the moment. Is that what others have as well?

ePizza, they used a different system last year, one provided by Hobsons (the same one used by MIT this year, for instance). This year the application system is completely different, apparently offered by Force. I don't think we can draw many conclusions on what happened last year. My status also says Interview Complete.

Regarding interviews, let's try not to overanalyze (I know it's hard). I was called by DB himself for my interview and honestly don't have a clue about how I did. We went into a lot of detail about my experience, with only something like two questions from the typical scripts we see. Remember you are a strong candidate for any school, and we will have other options in case GSB dings us.

Congrats mate! I bet folks would love to ask you these questions...

1.) Where are you based at?
2.) Was there not an alum in your area?
3.) Are you a college applicant?
4.) What's your background?
5.) When was your interview?
6.) Are you a re-applicant?
7.) ...
8.) ......
9.) .........

But the real question is --> How did you end up interviewing with DB??? #OveranalyzingAtItsBest

Nevertheless, these are all irrelevant and I agree with you that everyone will end up just fine in life, regardless of the outcome! Thanks for sharing!

OK now I feel bad since I was just teasing you with all the questions (not expecting any answers) given the inquisitive nature of this forum, really didn't mean to be so intrusive. :) apologies but you are one kind person to share all the details. Good luck augusto.duarte! :-D

Chill! I was the one feeling bad for reading this forum the whole time and not sharing anything. Sorry, guys!

I just hope that the AdCom isn't reading what we write here and thinks it is not Ok for us to share this kind of information.

Hi All,

I had an interview yesterday with the alum. I am based out of India. The interviewer was very nice and he mentioned as to how interview is just a data point in the entire application and mentioned he is timing the interview and will stop exactly at 30 min. The interview was completely situation based. He kept intervening in the middle and asked me a lot of tricky follow-up questions.( how could you have reacted/done it differently types). In all, I don't think the interview went well. I am not hopeful, but in any case will be glad to help any student appearing for interview in the coming two days. I am aware that they are still conducting the interview till 5th December.

Good luck.

Wait, so based on last year's threads, people in Asia / Europe started getting calls during normal business hours the day BEFORE the actual decision date? Or did I read that wrong?

This is so ridiculously nerve-wracking! Good luck, everyone!
