hey (to the person that just posted a question on having received 2 awards - can't find that post now) - from recalling their email a week or so ago, they explicitly stated to us that we shouldn't email them any further updates so I would follow that prescriptive rule - they might think 'if we cannot follow such rules, how are we expected to do so during the curriculum.' Unless you just got awarded a CBE, or something significant by someone like Bill Gates etc, I would keep this info to hand and bring to bear during the interview; and/or in case you get placed on the waitlist and can therefore include this later on, so you have something to update them with.

Thank you illuminator :)
I thought I'll go through recent mails from AdCom before composing a mail to them... and so I found the recent mail you've mentioned so deleted my post

no worries! I'm sure others will have this Q, so it's still a worthy discussion! 3 hours left...

Relax guys!
It's gonna be a spread-out affair.
400 invites over a month means only 10-15 invites a day.
So today wont be make or break by any stretch of imagination.

it is a hit and miss, and there is some luck to it as well -- are consultants useful with further insight? I didn't want to go down that path as was largely unsure if they would twist my story to conform to 'their' way, yet they don't know me, me :p, and wanted to remain just plain old me. Would be good to hear your thoughts on this.

Best of LUCK!!!! 48 hours to go

It's tough to say if a consultant is useful, given that I have no experience doing the application process without one. I will say it saved me a ton of stress - I tend to be a worrier, so instead of stressing about each individual detail, I could just ask my consultant and she would tell me if it mattered or not (most of the time it didn't). That being said, I think there a few pointers about my application that I wouldn't have done without her help that greatly improved my essays. My story didn't change, but she helped me better form the pitch. Similar to a marketing campaign, you try to put the product in the best light possible - the consultant really helped present the best version of myself (with "tweaks" not "twists" of my story). Was she worth the money? Maybe... I suppose we will see if I get in anywhere.

From looking at last years R1, it seems no invites were given on day 1...I think I assessed that right!

I didn't get invited to interview until 11/20 last year. I believe the entire process was shifted up a week this year.

Yea ive actually been interviewed both of the past two years, but didn't get in either time. Maybe third time will be the charm. My application/profile is definitely much stronger now than it was then.

Nothing... only another month of obsessively checking my email until I find out.

Does anyone know the frequency GSB releases invites to interview? I had my personal email up all day today and jumped every time my inbox said 1 Unread. I obviously can't do that for another month :) Do they release weekly? Daily? Whenever they please?
