Not even a single piece of news in this much-awaited Thanks Giving week. Sigh.

Its SPECULATION TIME..

Speculation No.1: The stanford adcom felt: that this year, may be we should send out most of the invites after thanksgiving. Stanford is a trend setter. We should not be so predictable!
Speculation No. 2: One of the stanford adcom member to the other: Hey XYZ, I think we should do most of our brain churning after thanksgiving. I so want to go for a vacation with my family and relax a bit before our marathon run to finalize R1 guys! XYZ to ABC: Yeah... sounds cool.. lets do it all after thanksgiving.
Speculation No. 3: ABC to XYZ: GOd! These alums, there are so many interview invites that need to be scheduled, and they cant find time for a few interviews! Vacations, festivities... blah blah blah.. I hope we can meet the deadline, thats all that i care about!
Speculation No. 4: OH GOD ... WE ARE ALL SO NOT ON THE BOAT!

One more speculation to add (on an optimistic note!). May be they want to see the results of the interview invites they have extended so far (given they provide 1-2 weeks time to finish the interview, they should have most results by end of this week). And based on potential dings in that batch, they may want to extend invites to remaining folks. :!:

Hello,

I have a quick question with regards to the dual degree programs at Stanford. How does admissions work? Are you first considered for admission to Stanford, and then considered for admission to the other program?
Will applying to a dual degree program lower your chances of admissions? (if you don't get into dual degree, can they still consider you for 1 degree only?)

Hi all
My GF had her interview last Friday. Alum mentioned to her that this time Stanford has changed the interview pattern slightly. He asked 4-5 behavioral questions. Why MBA? Example about leading a team, collaboration etc etc…..
It lasted for almost 70 minutes.
As usual Stanford alum was friendly and encouraged lot of discussion.

During my alumni interview last week, I was asked why MBA, why Stanford, and 4-5 stock behavioral questions.

My interviewer was friendly but, oddly, the interview felt the most mechanical of the several that I have completed.

Definitely not looking good for us without invites

This is probably the final week of a "bulk" of invites and then after this week, it will definitely trickle out until the deadline. And by trickle, I'd estimate around 30-50 invites max will be sent in December.
