This wait is an absolute killer....what do you think guys....do we still have hopes....I guess second lot of invites have already gone out on Friday...may be the population here is not representative.....I hoping against hope though!!

hang in there, Stanford is slow in giving out invites. One of my seniors was linked with an alum in Mumbai (India) and had less than a week to fly there and complete his interview. Even my email had the subject line: "Stanford MBA Interview Inquiry", and not strictly speaking an invite.

Congrats on the invite! My view is that you are better off flying to a hub location and doing the interview than one over the phone. Perhaps singapore / HK might be easy to get a visa for?

Good luck - hope it goes well!

Did they specify that there are no alums available in any other part of india as well? or just hyderabad?

It is because I suppose Delhi/Mumbai should have lot of Stan alums. One of my friends' company CEO is a Stan alum. He is in Bangalore.

No cities mentioned in the email. Just that alums not available in my area. Also no interview hubs disclosed in the mail. I am required to respond, giving names of cities where I can travel, or the distance I can travel. no mention of Indian or foreign travel.

What you are mentioning is correct, stan alums are in mum/delhi/bangalore. if u are in these cities, probably u are already linked to one of them and will receive ur invitation soon.

I will be mentioning Indian cities in my response, and wishing for an alum interview somewhere within India.

The best answer can be,

"Kindly let me know the nearest possible location where I can have an interview with an alum. Wether the place is in India or elsewhere in Asia, it will be my pleasure to meet a stanford alum."

Based on previous years experience, are all dings sent out on the release date (Dec. 14) or some will be released earlier?

Congrats Mayan for the interview.

To suggest some logistics - you don't need a visa for Thailand and Hong Kong - both have one on arrival, although in Thailand you need to pay some money to get your visa. Travel wise, tickets to Dubai and Thailand would be the cheapest. Staying wise, Thailand is the absolute cheapest. So my suggestion would be to check if you can interview with someone in Thailand (lower probability basis the fact they couldn't find someone in India for you), Dubai (cost of Dubai visa + ticket < hong kong ticket; stay equal at both places) and then Hong Kong.

From an alumni availability perspective, HongKong and Singapore should have a decent number of alums, and Dubai should also have some alumni plus is a hub.

Just thought I'd help out with my 2 cents. I haven't applied to Stanford but read your comment on travel. All the very best!

I hope its a warm sunny day in Stanford, CA and the adcom feels a bit generous with the invites.

To answer the question above (Based on previous years experience, are all dings sent out on the release date (Dec. 14) or some will be released earlier?), I guess the website provides a clear answer:
"We will post decisions to your ApplyYourself account by 5:00 PM Pacific Time on the decision date for the round in which you applied.
Under no circumstances can we provide decisions earlier."

In any case, I am sure we still have 2 good weeks where some of us may receive interview invites. Good Luck everyone!
