Got the notification email at midnight last night and just got a call from the admissions office. They said to look out for an email this afternoon with scholarship info and admit weekend details.
I hope they also send out some official waitlist instructions for those of us in that boat to clear up any questions regarding what kind of updates they'd like to see from WL'd people.

In general, congrats to everyone who got admitted, and condolences to those who were disappointed. Either way please don't forget to update your GMAT profile to reflect admits, dings, waitlists, and matriculations when you receive news or make your decision.

Same situation here also. Got Waitlisted. What kind of updates do the school want ? Any specific information/clarification for each candidate - how can we come to know ? Any experienced people in the forum who can throw light on this issue..

Hey all,

I just spoke with admissions. they said Scholarship information went out last night, so for those of us who only received the general email, I suspect we should assume we aren't getting any funding from UT-Austin.

but, for those who were admitted, at least we have a potential home for Fall 2012!

The admissions office will accept a new resume if you’ve recently been promoted or your work situation has changed, an additional letter of recommendation if you feel that it will significantly impact your application, or a new GMAT score. In general, the best advice for our waitlisted candidates is to be patient.

I'm surprised we didn't get more scholarship action posted on GMAT Club for R1 admits...Looks like we had one recorded scholarship post and none in the real time stats. Maybe when some accepted applicants turn down their invitation and scholarship to McCombs we'll see that money trickle down.

Anyway, congrats to all that accepted and good luck to everyone still in the hunt.

I was recently invited to interview. I'll be setting up an interview with an alum in my city. Is there an advantage to doing it as soon as possible? I'd like to wait until mid January because my boss will be out of town, and won't know if I leave to office early, but maybe its better to do it right away because it will put me in a better position for scholarship money? Also, is it better to interview with a recent MBA grad, or someone who finished the program a while ago (10-15 years)? Someone in my industry or unrelated?

I appreciate an advice.

Yes..that is actually very surprising. However, I have found this years Q&A with McCombs admission team on accepted.com that they say, that Scholarships are mostly sent very close to the deadlines, which actually makes sense. So a week around January 20.

Let's keep the hope alive:)

I put in my application back in November. Wish I could have made the round 1 deadline but I had to retake the GMAT. I'm in for R2. Should I be worried that I haven't received an invite to interview yet?

Also, congrats to everyone that got in this week!

No I only see the letter asking me to accept or decline when I log in. This was in my e-mail however
"It will be understood that the offer of admission and the scholarship are linked. You do not need to send separate notifications. As scholarships are limited in number, your earliest response is greatly appreciated."
It may be that as people decline they release those scholarships, but that's just speculation on my part...

I just received the interview invitation. Applied two days before the R2 deadline. Will be heading to Austin to interview next month. Earliest available date was January 19th.

Got the interview calls from McCombs (Dec 20, 2011 at 8:59 PM GMT).
I applied in R2 on 4th Dec, 2011.
Have a Skype interview.
But the online status portal has not been updated.
Anyone in the same shoes?
