Had my off campus interview with alumni yesterday. It went really well and was really straightforward. He began by telling me about himself and then proceeded to asked the 'typical' questions:

Walk me through your resume/experience.
Why do you want an MBA, why now?
Why UCLA?

He didn't ask me any behavioral questions which was surprising. Overall a very pleasant conversation!

All,
Just had my interview yesterday with alum - she was a 2009, so it was current and we had a great conversation, hardly felt like a interview except for first 10 minutes of the 1 hour
Walk me through your resume / why mba/ucla
Describe one leadership exp where you had a major impact in a negative/tough circumstance
That was it really - most of the conversation was her career path, my goals, how UCLA is, and just a very casual warm conversation.

Great experience and hoping for an admit!

There were a few R2 applicants (socalshcool, I, and few others) who got their status changed yesterday morning.. did anyone receive an interview invite? I did not and I still have some hope left.

I think I'm going to apply R3, there is just one thing holding me back. Letters of recommendation.

I am unable to get a letter from my supervisor at my last job (where I worked for 3 years). I can get a letter from my supervisor from my very first job post college though (only worked there for 4-6 months). And then I have a current person also. Will this be ok, or will it look weird that I was unable to secure a letter of rec from the company I worked at for the bulk of my post college career?

By the way, does anyone know what the letter of rec asks?? I would love to prepare my letter writer asap.

hi all, finally got a chance to scan through the thread. I have my interview on campus this week so trying to get some tips :)

this is probably late but i saw some questions about if anyone got interview invites without submitting the optional video essay. I'm one of them. I did however submit something for the 2nd optional essay. I'm also an alum so not sure if that made a difference.

That question might've been mine. I didn't respond to the optional video essay but ended up getting an interview a week after I asked that question.

Hi,

I am an international applicant and had my interview in Round 2. Have a doubt regarding financial aid applications. Actually there is a need access application which should be filled for need based grants:- https://www.accessgroup.org/

Any idea whether we should fill it now only or after getting the final admit ? Also what exactly should be filled in that ? I created a login account but I can only see loan disbursement forms..

Any idea which forms to fill in there ? Would be a great help if someone could clarify this..

just had my on-campus interview yesterday. i interviewed with an admission rep since its finals week for the students, and overall it was a great experience. he kept it very loose, nothing formal about it at all. he asked the basic questions about the resume, goals, and Anderson (i.e. what clubs, what classes i would take etc), and also asked about some of my experiences and interests. End of the month can't come soon enough!
