Make sense, if you don't mind could you pls share the other options too against which you'll be weighing the UCONN? I'm just a prospective student trying to learn more about the school.
Thanks
I'm still waiting to hear from other schools, but, beyond that, I also need to consider my wife as this decision will greatly affect her as well. She has been very supportive and encouraging, but I need to keep in mind while a big move like this is exciting (and frankly welcomed) for me, it may put a lot of strain on my wife and her career plans.
Honestly, though, it is incredibly hard to beat the ROI provided through UConn. Additionally, the program seems exceptionally well adapted to handle career switchers such as myself. But most importantly, UConn seems to have a strong presence in the financial services industry and offers great opportunities for students wanting to go into investment management. The Student Managed Fund is one such opportunity and the program further offers the Finance Accelerator experience in addition to the Graduate Finance Association.
If you want to look at UConn from a rankings perspective there is something to be said for how it is being perceived by peers and recruiters, the majority weight of the US News ranking metric. For the last 5 years UConn has
risen in the US News Rankings by an average of approximately 6 spots per year. That perception growth indicates to me that the school is committed to excellence in both the perception and the quality of the professional UConn produces.
As an update, I was admitted on November 19th in the early afternoon (EST). I am now waiting to find out what kind of scholarship package UConn will offer me; I should hear back by early december regarding scholarships.
