Calling all UT McCombs MBA Applicants: 2025 Intake Class of 2027

Hi All. I just got done with the Kira Assessment. These were the questions asked.
1. Introduce yourself highlighting who you are beyond your professional background.
2. Tell us about a time you failed.
3. Tell us about a time you stood for someone that you felt was mistreated.
4. Tell us about your most significant achievement, professionally, or personally.
5. Short term goals and alternate paths.

Does everyone have the same Kira questions in a year?

I have just finished my evaluation. The questions asked were:
1. Same as previously mentioned
2. Tell me about a time you were treated unfairly
3. Tell me about a time you assisted your colleagues
4. Tell me about a professional challenge you encountered
5. Discuss your short-term goals and backup plan

How do we schedule a optional peer interview?

It’s on the MBA next steps hub. On the application website itself.

Is it okay to note down few bullet points and refer the same during the evaluation?

read somewhere on the website that we get an email to schedule interviews once assessment is confirmed. Let us know if anyone has any idea on this?

totally okay. I did the same. Just make sure you dont sound like a robot and be more natural

Not sure if the assessment is a prerequisite to book the interview.
I have scheduled mine for mid November and I would suggest to book well in advance as you might not be able to get the suitable time slots later. Especially, if you based out of a Asia time zone.

But McCombs is interview by invite right?

yes. McCombs full-time mba application is only written essays and assessment and peer interview, though optional, is recommended. No such thing as interview by invite.

could you help me with the link or website to schedule a peer interview. I cant seem to find it no matter where i look.

I didn’t really get this?
I’m assuming Peer interview is just to help the candidate accustomed to the actual interview?
Can someone clarify?

"For Full-Time MBA applicants, however, the MBA Interview is optional. There are plenty of ways for the admissions committee to get to know you without the optional MBA admissions interview. For example, if you have continuously engaged with the McCombs community, feel confident in your video assessment submission, and have no additional questions for a current student, then registering for and attending a virtual interview might not be necessary. On the other hand, if you have not had the chance to get to know us and would like an additional opportunity to convey something that might not be conveyed elsewhere in the application, we might recommend signing up for a peer interview. At the end of the day, the choice is yours. The interview may serve as an additional data point for the committee, but it is not required for admissions consideration."

Peer interview is the actual optional interview right ?

In the profile section, under the submitted application, you’ll find an option ’MBA Student Community’ in the action items column. In that, you’ll be able to see the optional interview at the bottom.
