Got the call a few hours ago, I am in. Utterly relieved and surprised. W was stretch for me and the application was very time consuming. Thanks for advice and emotional support. Congratulations to other admits and commiseration to dinged applicants. I see that most posters have admits from other fine BSchools and I believe that you will pursue your goals regardless of the institution. It is the person who makes his/her path in life.

@hereicome: Congrats, I think you are the first R2 with scholarship notification. Is it a named fellowship? Wow 30K a year is massive, I trade missing 3 boxes for $ anytime

Thanks man. I do appreciate it. My letter just says Wharton Fellowship, so I'm assuming that's not named. What's the difference (besides who is actually writing the check)?

hereicome,

I am not a scholarship expert as I haven't received any $ from BSchools. My theory is the W fellowship might be from the general pot and adcom can distribute in accordance with its preference. Named scholarship: donor might specify allocation to specific factors such as nationality, ethnicity, work background, concentration. At some other thread, the policy is to dish out named scholarship first with phone calls and then the general pot (merit based grant/scholarship). W must really like you and wants you in its class as $30K is on the generous side for W. Care to share your profile with us mere mortals? :)

Apologies if I already posted this. I cannot find me earlier post and I think it disappeared because my page refreshed itself before I got a chance to post:

1) Got in. No call, but I checked my mail around 06:30pm and saw that I had an email and I went back to the Application page.

$30k scholarship over 2 years!

So excited!

Stats:

GRE: 800 Quant and 710 Verbal (98th percentile), 5.5 Wriitng (94th percentile)
GPA: 3.2 HYP Chemical Engineering
Extra-curriculars: really strong

Congrats to all admits.

Best of luck to all those who did not get in!

I'm late to the party, but for the sake of completeness: WL

6 more weeks of purgatory. Ugh. Seems like there are an awful lot of us on the forum - can only imagine how many WL spots they must have given out today. Doesn't bode well!

was too busy drinking to bother opening the official letter, having received a call earlier today

"In addition, due to your exceptional professional, academic and personal achievement, I am pleased to inform you that you have been selected to receive a $40,000 [Industry] Fellowship, to be distributed over your two years at Wharton. We recognize and value your significant achievements to date and look forward to your contributions to the Wharton MBA program, your classmates and future alumni network."

if hbs says yes next week, this will certainly complicate the decision...

Full on DING from Lauder.

Congratz to all that got in!
Though in full disclosure, in the future, any Wharton MBA I interview has little to no chance of getting hired

Commiseration. In future, you can put Whartonites through job interview hell first with behavioural interview Qs :)

Ha well all I can say is that I'm pretty happy. The wait of the whole day without a phone call nearly killed me.

26/M/750/6.0/3.3 in math from a tech school/3.5 years WE in economic consulting/good ECs during college and ok afterwards

I think for me the big thing was my essays and interview.

Also, any other admits in Boston want to get together to celebrate???

WL again from R1. I suppose I'll wait this out again (at least this wait is less than two months), but in the meantime still deciding between CBS/Booth.

Those of you with fellowships, if it says 30k fellowship does that mean 30k per year? Or 30k total?

It means $30k over two years / $15k per year. That's how the adcom that called me this morning presented my scholarship.
