Me too. I havent heard of admitted wl candidates yet. Based on the last year thread, people who got off the wl last year heard on or after the deposit deadline (which is may 6 this year).

Any movement this week for WLs? Safe to assume we could hear something around the deposit deadline next week?

If there is a consistent trend this admissions cycle, I venture we may be hearing of the next round of dings this Friday--of course, this is pure speculation only. Good luck to all.

How many people do you think are on the WL/R3 and how many spots are left?

i dont think anyone would really know the answer to that question or have any basis for their answer. however, just using facebook as a benchmark the wharton mba class of 2013 facebook group only has 600 people. if i had to guess the vast majority of people join groups like that so there are probably still quite a few spots open.

Like I said, its only a benchmark and its impossible to actually gauge. But Booth has almost half the class size of Wharton, 450 vs 800. So the numbers are kinda inline. While conversely, Duke's group has 500 but its class size is only 430 (at of current students are in that group).

Really though, admittance is binary 1 or 0. How many spots are available is kinda irrelevant.

Anyone is still awaiting Wharton's decision?

Gosh the Calling for Wharton 2012 thread is out already. Can't imagine myself going through this all over again...

Does anyone know whether waitlisters can get feedback on our application from Wharton after May12?

Thanks.

Yeah...still waiting here...
I don't think we'll hear anything before May 12th...
I just hope we do hear something on that day...I don't think I can deal with a summer waitlist

I think there will be a ding party this friday

Even if the deposit deadline is May, 6th...I don't think they'll get around to decisions (dings or not) on the same day, let alone announcing them...
Unless the waitlist is ranked!

Of course, this is all pure speculation on my part :)

You figure there has to be some form of a ranking. Also remember that a good number of people send their deposits or withdrawals before the deadline. On another note what is the class size? I know people were talking about facebook groups etc but does that include the Wharton/Lauder people?

Yay! more speculation :P
It can certainly be fun :)

I don't know how that would work with maintaining class diversity or mix...
For instance, how would the AdCom know whether they'd prefer to include a male European entrepreneur or a female Asian financial analyst (assuming very similar or equivalent scores on other measures) until after the deadline?
That said, I think the large class size affords even more leeway with WL selections...

Or maybe they have a sophisticate muti-dimensional ranked list taking gender, WE, field, UG major and GMAT score into account...that'd be very cool :)

My theory is that they work with replacements. For each accepted candidate there is one (or more) waitlisted candidates with a similar profile. If the accepted one declines they call the replacement - most likely a waitlsted can be the replacer of multiple accepted students. On top of that they cross check the new list of students to make sure all the dimensions are covered (GMAT, GPA, etc.) and tweek here and there.
So there is no rank to the waitlist, however the process of dinging/accepting from the waitlist is fairly fast.

Hope I'm the replacer of a HBS/GSB admit that prefers California or Boston over Philly.

1 week to go, good luck to u all!
