Thats definitely understandable. I didn't go to W undergrad, I was a Political Economy major so maybe its different...but I have done a ton of research on the programs and for my goals and needs, Wharton is the perfect program for me.

I have heard of the argument that is might be better not to go to the same grad program as you did your undergrad because you can get a broader network (for example I did not consider my alma mater for bschool, coupled onto the fact it's not ranked high at all, mainly to get out of town and make new connections). That said, Wharton is a fine program, and I'm sure Harvard undergrads strongly consider going to HBS as well.

So do we think there is pretty much no chance anyone on the waitlist hears before March 24th?

Personally I think there will be some movement on the waitlist during mid to end of Feb (16th - 28th) when the R2 interviews have been finalized and the R1 deposit deadline has passed. I will certainly be surprised if waitisters wait until March 24th. That would just be plain brutal!!!!

Well it seems pretty quiet on this board for Wharton, so maybe that is an indication of something...

Did anyone happen to join the January 18th online chat that include members of the MBA admissions team? I had a conflict but I'm curious to know if anyone brought up the waitlist topic.

haha what could it be an indication of? the fact that it sucks waiting?

I'm hoping that it's an indication that there're less people applying to Wharton R2, giving us a better chance. Honestly though it is probably an indication of nothing.

Just called admissions office and according no waitlist decisions will come before March 24th, they all will come at once.

I like that better than Booth - knowing that a decision could be coming at any time and scrambling to get update recommendations lined up is really stressing me out right now.

I'm sure its stressful but at the same time everyday you have hope that it might happen. Here no hope until March 24th and even at that point I'm really not sure what our odds are.

Agreed on the hope, but I'm more worried about the fear of an early ding :(

PE, is Wharton the only place you'll go?

I dunno - it seems like the forums were much quieter in R2 also. Is that normal?

To all WLers - any news or speculations on volume of R2 applicants?
In my view, acitivity on forums is lower in this round.

You have to measure that after the interview invites come out--that's when most lurkers come out.

Interesting dicussion in the gmatclub chatroom on Friday about the waitlist. Not to evoke false hope but according to a first year at Wharton some waitlisters may be admitted in the next week or so. Curious to know others thoughts and if I missed any other details (I was in and out of the chat).

Whoa, okay, that is potentially big news. Was this someone in the chat or someone you know from outside of GmatClub?

This was per an individual in the chat who had detailed info on the admissions process. Others on this thread were present. Surprised no one has posted more given the nature of the news...

I missed this and I wish I didn't know. This could be a speculation that makes us worry intensively yet another week. At worst, a couple of people who are not on the forum pull through and the rest of us keep waiting anxiously all week with no clue about their invites. After waiting on Wharton waitlists for close to 9 months now, I have learned that the best news are delivered as a surprise. It makes them much much better, and I think the school would prefer to do that too. I hate to say it, but I think we are better off just forgetting about the waitlist and this thread for a while.

I hope this rumor is bogus. For all us WLers it's already stressful deciding between accepts and WLs etc.
