So I need a quick opinion! I have spent weeks perfecting my Wharton app. Those who applied may have felt the frustration of not being able to view in PDF. I used Chrome on a mac to finish the app. I hit submit and viewed the final PDF application. I felt great about everything until.....uughhh...under work experience I saw sections for "key responsibilities" that were left blank. I swear I have been in the app dozens of times and I never saw these in my browser.

That being said, should I call the school or should I bet on the strength of the rest of the application? As you know the deadline looms...it is especially frustrating since this is a top target program for me, I have a strong GMAT, experience, recommendations and extracurriculars, plus I visited the campus from 300 miles away. I really hope I didn't blow it big time!!!!

I noticed that too! Actually, I missed some fields like "key responsibilites" and "description" in the employment section. In my case, I work for an independente subsidiary of a large banking group, but I couldn't explain this in the employment section. I think they will have to figure it out from my resumé!
Another thing I noticed is that in the activities section there was no space to explain briefly about my extracurricular acitivities. Maybe Wharton is putting a heavier weight on GMAT, GPA and the brand name of your employer than other parts of your application!

I just submitted and got the following email:

"This is a joint application with the Full-Time MBA, MBA for Executives and Doctoral programs at Wharton. The application is intuitive and will only display questions asked for by the program you are applying to. The PDF reflects questions asked for all three programs. Consequently, you will see blank questions displayed on the PDF that are not a part of your application. Please do not be alarmed."

The 'Key responsibilities" section is probably from one of the other applications, so I wouldn't worry about it.

I called the admissions office, and they told me the same thing.

Do not worry, everyone!

Thanks everyone for the reply on key responsibilities. For further clarification, if you view the completed app in HTML rather than the PDF version it will give you an accurate accounting of what was submitted.

In for Round 1. I hate waiting.

Hey future classmates,

Any idea when we are expected to start hearing some news about invites based on prior experience? I'm pretty sure the deadline last year was around this date, would be great to know

Thanks a lot,

Cheers!

I submitted my Wharton application yesterday! First one down :-) I looked through last year's thread and it sounds like they notified about interviews by November 11th.

I got an email from Wharton this morning confirming that I'm in for Round 1 and saying that

"The Admissions Committee will release interview invitations on Friday, October 31, 2014 by 5:00 pm Eastern Standard Time. On October 31st, the Committee will also release all final admissions decisions to candidates that are not being invited for an interview and therefore no longer being considered for admission."

Hope that helps everyone out! Good luck!

I received the same e-mail as well. Note if you see “Submitted” and recommendations read “Completed”, your application has been forwarded to the Committee for review /which means you have submitted all required files/.

Got the email too.

Does anyone know if we get to pick our own dates for the interview if invited?

I got the impression that Wharton is not going to do the Team-based discussion anymore. Maybe they are going to do only interviews. In yesterday's email Wharton didn't mention anything about team based discussions! What do yo u guys think?

Thats interesting, maybe since they've done it two years now I guess it has become standard so no reason to re-confirm every year

I am pretty sure we will have TBD but we'll have to see about that!

Cheers

What I have heard (don't know if it's true or not) is that the former Director of Admissions (can't recall her name right now) resigned on the deadline of round 1 application cycle last year. She was the greater enthusiast of the TBD, but was very criticized - mainly by admissions consultants - for the lack of a clear evaluation method. So, based on this and on the email, I think there is a chance Wharton is doing only one-on-one interviews this year. Let's see...
