Hey I just noticed I am not on the roll call! If this is still being updated please add me as I received an interview invite on 10 Nov.

And since I'm bored I was checking out the spreadsheet too. 730 is the average GMAT this year - very strong applicant pool! Does anyone know if gmatclub is normally skewed high, low or even?

Not long to go now!
I would have to guess that the 730 average is skewed high. A) the most obsessive candidates are likely the ones on these forums, and given that they are so obsessive they probably studied very hard and demanded that they do well on the GMAT, and B) people are far more likely to report their score openly if it is a score they are proud of. I'd guess the median for Booth is closer to 710 or maybe 720 this year.

Not sure if you heard, but there were 593 first year students this year! So safe to say, yield was def higher than anticipated. I didn't hear of much movement off the WLs during last app cycle.

We've also been told that admissions will be tight this year and will try to get the number back down to the target of 550 students in class of 2012.

Yea, I knew about the 593. I wonder how they'll adjust this year, cause I know the 593 presented real problems (e.g. not enough lockers)

Yeah not enough lockers and a major excess of bidding points driving up class prices (43 extra students x 8,000 points = 344,000 extra bid points out there for same number of classes). There was a class that went for 26,000 in round 3. ugh...

26,000? Please tell me this was Schraeger or Rock or something. Thats a ridiculous bid quantity, especially for non-spring courseloads.

Good luck for those in the R1 race!

On a side note, yesterday we received an email announcing that Ted Snyder will end his tenure as Dean in June/2010. So the school will have a new dean when you guys start school.

Rhyme, you won't believe about the bidding:

Macro with Erik Hurst:
R1 10,000
R2 15,275
R3 16,795

Economic Analysis of Major Policy Issues with Becker/Murphy/Snyder R1 6,611
R2 10,010
R3 23,722

Marketing Strategy with Dhar:
R1 4,001
R2 20,000
R3 13,238
REALLY?

NVS with Schrager (it's fair, I will take this class on spring quarter and if I have to I pay 20k):
R1 9,011
R2 15,888
R3 20,229

I have a few questions regarding the ppt. What is the font size people generally used for this essay? I know that when you are preparing a real ppt you generally use 20 and upwards but since this essay is going to be printed on paper and added to my file, what font size would you recommend?
I have one more question regarding how much should I write on one slide? Is it okay to write7-8 lines or should I write more or less?
Please answer.

I can understand Schrager. Heck, I'd even say those prices are a good deal for him, but 20,000 for Dhar is like paying $500,000 to attend the University of Phoenix Online.

Schrager was the best professor ever - absolutely take him.

Ari, I think the powerpoint is totally your call. My first three slides have 7-8 lines of text and a picture. I used a 14 sized font. Having not yet received a decision, I can't tell you if they liked it or not. I'd be glad to share it with you if I get in though.

Ari,

In my case, my PPT was mostly pictures with captions following different themes...one slide about career, one about my outside the office and one about the people I care... I would say 95% pictures, a couple bullets and captions...

Not sure if it worked, but at least got me an interview invite...

I did 95% pictures with captions too. Got an interview - but the ppt could still have been the weak link I guess, although I feel it was a strength for me.

Good luck!

Mine had a picture on each slide too. It really needed some text to tell the story though. I tried to be as concise as possible.

As far as content goes, I'm keeping that close to the vest until D-day, but I will say that all four of my slides were on the same topic, a hobby of mine.
