Good luck to everyone! I took mine at the beginning of November (needed to place it strategically before snowboarding season began), but I figured I'd join in anyway.

Test date: 11/3/14
Taking the test in: Orange County, CA
Revision so far: Kaplan. I had heard good things from my friend and I thought it helped me a lot. GMAT Prep 1 was a 610, studied a bit, Kaplan CAT 1 was a 680, and it hovered there for a long time before I started breaking 700 regularly. Total study time was 2 months.
First attempt and last I think, I'm happy with my 730 (49Q/40V/8IR/6AWA).

I don't have much to say except that I tried to reward myself after every practice exam, good or bad (usually in the form of a good meal like In N Out since I'm otherwise a very healthy eater) which allowed me to ruminate over my performance without having to think about cooking. And always think of the positives! Your score might not have been as high as you wanted on your practice, but maybe you paced better, or maybe you improved on one section. Hell, maybe you recognized a mistake you made on a previous one! As long as you stay positive about your progress, you keep wanting to move forward.

oh you snowboard? That's soo cool! I live in the Northeast and have always wanted to try, but have failed every time :(

And congrats on such a great score. Guess your strategy of rewarding yourself with a good meal after every practice test helped :P (food = solution to everything. Story of my life). Care to share what practice tests you used?

Hi everyone,

Test date: 11/26/14
Taking the test in Chicago, Illinois, USA
Revision so far: OG accuracy Q - 78% DS, 82% PS, V - CR 75%, SC 71%, RC 63%. Did all the questions from magoosh: Estimated score for Q 41-47, V 31-38
did few CAT's, old GMATprep software 2 tests, New GMATprep 4 tests
Books used: GMAT math, MGMAT all books. OG + OG verbal + OG Quant
1st CAT - 640
2nd CAT - 580
3rd CAT - 590
4th CAT - 640
5th CAT - 610
6th CAT - 650
My Q score is stable, 42 min 49 max, but my verbal bounces from one test to another... Maximum I got was 37, and minimum was 26...
Did some GMAT club tests, Q max I got 47.
My biggest weaknesses are RC & CR, and the hardest SC questions. Furthermore, I hate probability, combinations, and coordinate plane questions from Q.
Although I have won the GMAT club verbal contest, I still struggle answering V questions...
The bad thing is that I've been preparing for about 4-5 months, and everything was really good...but lately I got a promotion, and since then, I almost stopped my preps for the test. Nevertheless, I hope everything will be ok, in the end, it is just a test ;)

First/ second/ third... attempt: This is my second attempt. I took the GMAT back in 2012, when I applied for a master program in Switzerland. I had prepared for the test ~3-4 weeks and got 550 (Q39, V28), which was enough for me at that moment (I needed 500). Now I am aiming ~700, and I know that if I get on the real test my maximum scores for Q and V, then I can achieve my goal.

Hi Ergenekon :-D

Well you will score 690+ , I reckon . :banana :banana :banana :banana :banana :banana :banana :banana :banana :banana :banana :banana :done :wave

Reason :

1.Firstly if you are constantly scoring 650+ in all your mocks . You are also improving each time you are appearing . Moreover you are scoring those brilliant scores in MGMAT & GMAT Prep , which I find among the best mocks for GMAT .

2. Secondly , If we go by the average of your mock scores i.e

(650+660+750+660+640+650+700+690+730 ) / 9 =681.1111 or 680 :gl

You are scoring 680

3. Lastly your median score is 660 . :cool which is again a good score .

Hence , I assert that you are fairly on a right track . :wave :banana :woohoo

All the best

Regards

kushwahanuj28, thanks for your opinion, but actually my target score is more than 710-20. You have an interesting approach to predict the score)). I cannot evaluate the truthfulness of your approach, but I think we must consider some additional things when we calculate the score. First, my first GMAT prep scores are from the July. Second, manhattan's quant is too tough for the official exam. My quant is at least 48 in gmat and my purpose is to score 50. Third, I carefully review high scorers' gmat debriefs and noticed that they score on average 36 and max. that I encountered ( it is what I encountered) was 41 in verbal in manhattan cats. So with scoring 36, 37, 38, 40 and 45 in manhattan and 41 in gmatprep ( retake, few repeat questions) I hope I can score around 38-40 if not more. I would like to hear your opinion too.
