Can question 1 be a RC question?
In any of my mocks I never got a RC first.

So, I wonder.
Plus, I dont have so much confidence on RC as much as I have on SC & CR. :?

So, I wonder.
Plus, I dont have so much confidence on RC as much as I have on SC & CR. :?

Yes, this could happen. I remember the same thing happened on my Last official GMAT Exam. :)

it can absolutely happen, there is no fixed pattern for how the question appears.

yes, verbal section can start with a RC passage - happened with me in 2 mocks --> got 4 ques RC set at the starting itself, out of which 1st 3 ques were experimental and last one was of medium difficulty level

During exam it wasn't evident, got to know in the post exam analysis

Hi Viserion99 ,

Don't consider any question experimental as you have no way to determine the same on the actual exam.

My personal advice: Consider every question equally important. If you get first question as an RC, be very focused and try to get all questions correct. This will help you move your score to a higher level.

Hi!

I took the GmatPrep from Exam Pack 1 and got the very first question as an RC. It was a first time for me as well but this is proof that it can happen.

Just keep practising and keep calm!

EDIT: Took the 2nd exam from Exam Pack 1 and again, the verbal section started with RC. Also, I've been told that RC and SC impact your verbal score more than CR does. Consider RC a gift - If you invest in reading slowly and nicely, you can save a tonne of time on the questions based on it.

If I remember correctly - my very own GMAT exam began with a reading passage. So regardless of whether my memory is accurate or not, allow for any kind of verbal question to appear as your first question.

If your first question is RC - then you will almost certainly have your 2nd question as RC as well -- as RC will have one passage followed by (usually) 3 questions.

Not sure which tests you took, but the GMATPreps don't have any experimental questions. But yes, there should be no reason that the GMAT cannot start with RC.
