Got my invite. I'm a re-applicant and I think my interview request was submitted just fine on the website even though I got the email that the Admissions Office is working on some system fixes (for re-applicants).

I guess, I'll just wait for 48 hours for now. Any other re-applicant submitted their request?

It looks like there is an issue with the scheduling system. I received an email that said their vendor for the scheduling system has been negatively impacted by Hurricane Sandy and that they will email me when the system is available. They indicated that this was specific to REAPPLICANTS. It goes on to say that if you are interested in interviewing on campus (which I am), then you can email them your requested date/time and they can work to try and schedule it for you.

I replied with my request and can update on any responses.

Needless to say, it has been a good morning... INVITE

In less than an hour I received confirmation that I was scheduled for the date/time I requested. Best of luck to everyone that got invited. To those that didn't - you still have plenty of time for other schools R2. It is a long process (I am a reapplicant) and you can dramatically improve your submission in the next 12 months if you don't get in where you want. Best of luck to all of you as well!

I got an invite!!!!!!!! Had the crappiest week last week with hbs and CBS dings on wed and thurs - was in a state of semi depression for the weekend so this a huge relief.

I was in a client meeting w no signal so had to wait until 9:45 to Check!!! I was on the edge of my seat.

Two yrs of hard work and flat out dings left me wondering if it was just a waste of time. Feeling more confident now. I needed this :-)

Good luck to every one.

I received an email that the system is back up for all reapplicants that were having issues. I already scheduled via email, but wanted to let everyone know that things are back up and running...

If I have already visited campus, will it matter if I interview off campus? I think it is not supposed to matter, but the tone of the email is making me reconsider. Thoughts?

I ended up choosing on-campus even though I already visited. On poets and quants, I've read that if you choose an alum in your city that person may or may not interview a large number of people. If they don't interview a lot of people, their perspective of you can be skewed because they don't have a lot to compare to. It can be good or bad for you depending on the situation.
I don't think there's a right answer, but since I'm not terribly far away I went for the on-campus.

How important do you think it is to wear a suit to interview with an alumnus? Is it unprofessional to wear sharp business casual (I am a former banker, and I think I'm well put together)?

Hi elbie,
Please believe me when I tell you that it does NOT matter if you interview on campus or off, especially if you have already visited. Booth encourages on campus interviews for those who have not visited the school so that they can get a chance to do so while they are there to interview.

This isn't a trick and there isn't a right or wrong answer. You will hear the advantages and disadvantages of both on campus and off campus interviews depending on who you ask. There is no one size fits all answer. People have had great alumni interviews and terrible adcom interviews and vice versa. There is no way to predict it. You could go on campus and get interviewed by a 2nd year student to whom you don't connect at all. Then you'll come back to GC and read all these stories of alumni interviews that were more like a 90 minute gabfest with a friend. Or you could interview with an alum who makes you feel like you're in front of a firing squad and wish you'd done a simple 30 minute interview with an adcom.

I know that this process is nerve wracking and you want to ensure the best outcome possible. However, in this case there is not a right or wrong answer. My roommate and I both visited campus prior to our invites and chose to interview off campus. I have other friends who came back twice and others who didn't come to campus until admit weekend. We are all Boothies now. There is no secret advantage to coming back on campus for an interview. Save the trip for Admit Weekend :-D

So unfortunately, I received a ding letter from Booth yesterday. After coming to the terms with it, today, I received an email "Chicago Booth Interview Information" from them, stating that I am matched with an interviewer in my city, along with other interview details. (And no emails after that). So I, of course, called the Admissions office, and they said, "We're very sorry, that was a clerical error." How brutal is that?
