Do we need to worry about whether the alum interviewer has filed his report or not? Will Booth make sure that happens or do we need to remind the interviewer?

I think the problem is that Booth doesn't even probably know that the interview's been completed

Yes, I don't think they'll know because we've been scheduling with the Alumni ourselves. So, we may have to send a reminder if the report has not been filed even after 10 days or so.

No you do not need to send a reminder. Booth has a system in place to get the interviewer feedback. They know who your interviewer is and they will take care of it. Once your interview is over, leave it alone. Your feedback will be submitted. Just because your status hasn't updated to interview complete does NOT mean that you need to nudge the process along. Booth has been doing this for years. Trust that the admissions committee knows what they are doing.

Had my interview on-campus with a 2nd year student. My interviewer & the student in the waiting area said that Booth interviews were supposed to be relaxed and would probably be the easiest interview you have. I would agree that it was a relaxed interview.
Same questions as everyone else, my interview lasted about an hour (time goes so fast)!.

The interviewer really wanted to understand my job choices/transitions/future goals. Wanted to know how I would add value to the campus and classes. A couple leadership behavioral questions. Time for me to ask questions. Pretty basic interview format, no crazy questions for me. Felt more like a conversation than an interview.

The interviewer said this year is really competitive as far as applications go. Best of luck to everyone - one month til decision!

Top10, when did you have your interview? I had mine last week and it was eerily similar to what you have described. Maybe the 2nd year students are told to stick to a script of sorts.

December 18th/19th cannot come fast enough...

Had my interview in Calcutta, India today. My interviewer told me that the adcom/ another alum will contact me for a second round of interview. :o Booth website says that we will have "only one interview".
Any idea?

Live Essay Writing Workshop, presented by Admissionado


Sigh. The MBA Application essays. Who thought it was a good idea to ask people to write 2000 words before they even get INTO school? Turns out, it doesn’t matter, because someone did… and now you have to come up with the most compelling and memorable essays about leadership that you can. And then do it again for every school you apply to.

Did anyone goto the info session on November 29th? I am scheduled to visit campus this Friday, December 7th. I have been to the Gleacher Center several times, but I have never been to the Hyde Park campus, and I'm a Chicago native! lol

Hello, I would really appreciate the expert/peer opinion on this:

I am applying to Booth and Wharton in R2 - both require 2 recommendations. I am an entrepreneur in a brick and mortar business with a total 10 years of work experience, the last 5 of which were spent starting and growing my business successfully. Prior to that, I worked as an IT management consultant with a well-known firm.

I have the option of choosing 1) My Auditor/Financial adviser/mentor from my current business, 2) A senior customer representative from my current business or 3) My Practice partner from my previous consulting job as my recommenders. I am planning to choose the first 2, but that makes my application pretty uni-dimensional as my essays also focus on my business venture. My practice partner from consulting can bring a different perspective on my managerial/leadership skills (examples of my leading teams internationally across different countries). On the other hand, if I choose the partner from my previous job, it makes the recommendation content 5 years old. That makes the recommendation's current relevance questionable.

So, I am pondering over whom to choose as my recommenders. Would be grateful for your inputs.

I would choose recommenders based on how well the recommender knows you and the recency of the professional experience. In my view this is more important
than breadth of content, especially if the previous interviewer knew you 5 years ago.

You can balance this in your short-answers, CV and essays by making sure you mention the IT consulting experience in detail.
