I have a query regarding my profile...
As they say the competition for mba is very high for Indian students as many apply.
Please review my profile.
I have completed my bachelors in pharmacy, did a Pharma MBA post that, have 3.5 years of experience which includes Management trainee, Area business manager and now working as a brand manager in GSK.
I want to pursue a general MBA outside INDIA
Due to certain circumstances I have to prepone my MBA plan and now have very less time to apply in round 2. Haven’t even given GMAT yet.
Kindly guide

I would firstly like to start off by saying that you have provided us with very scarce details, so providing a comprehensive profile evaluation wouldn’t be possible.
But, on the basis of the details provided by you, I would say that you seem to have a decent academic background. Coming from a Pharmacy background and then completing a MBA in the same specialization showcases the fact that you possess a great breadth of knowledge in the domain and would be able to provide valuable insights into the industry with your expertise in the domain. You haven’t mentioned your grades, so I can’t say if you can apply to certain schools or not.
Coming on to your work experience, you have 3.5 years of work experience which sets you at par with the average work experience of the competitor pool. Working as the brand manager at GSK not only vouches for your managerial skills but also adds a big brand name to your profile. The brand name definitely plays a major role in an application as you’d be competing with applicants from the top schools and big4 companies. Here, talking about the kind of projects you have undertaken, the impact you created and your career progression with major learning takeaways would definitely showcase the quality of your work and set you at par with your competitors.
Further, on the note of extracurriculars, you must be cognizant of the fact that schools seek applicants having a holistic profile. Hence, accounting for the same, you can take up some volunteering activities or certifications to showcase constant upskilling in your path. Extracurriculars are a great way to showcase your skills like leadership, networking, communication skills, etc. Thus, you must get your hands on some extracurricular engagements/initiatives to strengthen your profile.
Coming on to your MBA plans, as round 2 deadlines are just around the corner, preparing for the GMAT at this point in time won’t be a good idea. Not only would it delay your application, but there is a big chance that you might not get a competitive score. Instead, I’d advise you to divert your attention towards crafting a really strong application and target non GMAT schools. Some of the non-GMAT schools that you can target are Edhec, Skema, Grenoble, Essec, FSFM, TUM, TCD, NUS etc.
Since the round 2 deadlines are fast approaching, I’d suggest you to book a free consultation call with our expert consultants who would clear any doubts you may have regarding the admission process and provide you with a personalized list of schools you can target as per your profile.
