Because of the use of AND THAT....It appears that there are two actions done..
1)means SAT score iS 630
2)SCORED 30percent higher.

But I have a question regarding the non-underlined portion of this problem.

Shouldn´t it be
"Comparing stats of its students with those of students of other schools..." since "stats" is plural?

I was reading the explanations given by people over here. I think that most of those were wrong.
Error in choice "A" is comparison error. They scored 30% higher than the mean score. Here comparison is wrong.
They have been compared to the mean score, this comparison is wrong.
In B error is not of verb. Error is same as in A. Comparison error. and also of idiom error.
correct idiom is higher than not higher compared to.

IMO C is correct but for different reasons.
