A, B and C are easy eliminations due to modifier misplacement.
Confused between D and E. I've chosen D but in hindsight, I think the "completely engulfed in flames.." is essential information and hence E would be preferred over D?

Between D and E, I chose E.
D is redundant because 'burning house' and 'which was engulfed in flames' are saying the same thing.
