guys i need a quick feedback...will cornell allow a few grace days after the deadline for the recommendation letter to be submitted? or are they very particular about it?

can't speak for cornell's adcom, but in general the schools allow grace period for the recommendation letters, since it's out of your control. the exact # of days depends on when they start reviewing the applications. it would make sense to kick the ones missing recs to the end of the pile for same application round. you will probably get an extra week or so. to be sure, give them a call.

I guys i wanted your FBK on essay1 characterize your career SINCE graduation However i started working part-time since college in venture debt / micro-finance , which has shaped my career goals. So is it OK if i really start from these college internships experiences , or will it be considered VIOLATION of the question stem in any way

Hi Kapilhede17 I had the same doubt since my career progress was based on something I did part-time during grad school. IMO it's definitely not a violation since you would be addressing how you got into the field and on the contrary would indicate a clear career path. However, keep in mind that the essay is limited to 300 words. So you don’t want to be investing too much real estate on talking about internship/part time job but instead highlight it as a trigger point and how your interest/perseverance post that experience shaped the rest of your career. Hope this makes sense.

according to an Admission consultant in another forum, the application volume has increased 30%...More competition this time around.

Ive heard the 30% increase being thrown around for a couple different schools and it makes me hesitant to believe its true. Its simply to big of a jump which cant be justified by changes in ranking. Posted from my mobile device
