A) student spent 4 dollar
B) pen cost 0.5$ and notebook cost 1$

Each statement individually obviously not sufficient.
If we combine both, then one case could be 6 pens and 1 book another case could be 2 pens and 3 books. Not sufficient together also

Together you can have 2 pens 3 books, 4 pens 2 books, 6 pens book etc

You are not alone in this boat, timing is a challenge for most test takers on DI, you can use some pacing strategies, identify your strength and weakness and then divide the test into either halves or quarters, this is easier said than done and needs practice and patience.

I combated the problem by focusing on my foundations and making them as strong as possible. I then kept solving questions until I was sure I can solve all the question, I then focused on my time, all you have to do is practice, practice and practice

Hi

My biggest weakness for some reason is Data Sufficiency, for some reason no matter what I do I always feel like I’m guessing.

What would you guys recommend to get better at this? I need to start from fundamentals - I don’t think my problem is solving. It’s the question type (I feel).

Start to push the question before you get into the statements, how do you translate the question into an equation or clearly into something that you can asnwer, then take topics do overlapping sets DS, word problem DS, verbal logic DS, your approach should be sound for all questions, where you cannot push the question you should be clear on how you are approaching it. DS is not easy and it is the same for everyone. With wordier problems it gets tough and if you cannot find a way forward move on as there are other question types you can attempt

is-it-cheaper-for-a-business-to-move-freight-by-truck-or-rail-long-ha-219622.html

On average, do freight railroad companies buy more fuel per year than freight trucking companies do? For this question, it is cant be determined. I it beacuse the passage doesnt talk about freight trucking companies? (Even though it is said railroad is more fuel efficient)

That statement 2 cannot be determined because -> the passage does not talk who buys more fuel, rail or truck?

The passage only tells us that rail is more fuel-efficient than trucks. Fuel efficient - how many kms can 1 unit of fuel run, say. The passage does not comment on actual quantity of fuel bought.
