One of his major criteria is that capacity should be more than 8. If it’s not then it’s straight away rejected.
Second is that he wants a video conference so his first choice is for Thursday room 1 which has VC and second is Room 6 friday which has VC but if both are not available he is willing to settle for room 2 with no VC but at least a good capacity.
So here, the main assumption/criteria is the capacity. And second is VC

Also here why Room 2 is the third choice and not Room 3 isn’t our concern basically as has been posted by some in the explanation as to R3 should be preferred over R2

why wouldn’t room 3 be our concern?

The question says assume that statement 1 is true. That means that he prefers video conferencing and having meeting early in the week. Based on these two the chice should have been room 1>room6> room 3. The statement does not explain that what is the reason of chosing 2 over 3

Also, for statement 2: The video uploaded in responses mentions that since he chose room 2 that proves that he is okay with only voice conferencing. That is not the question though. The question is to already assume that statement 2 is true and then prove the conclusion not the vice versa

The question stem says R2 is preferred over R3. So we have to take that as true and that cannot change. So we need not find any reason why not R3. We need to assume something which supports choosing R2. So in that case we can assume that he is willing to book without video conferencing. That only gives question stem credibility. Maybe for any other reasons whatsoever he preferred R2, but that is not the concern.

The conclusion is that R2 is chosen. So we have to assume something from the answer which makes C true.

I know. but the question says that does the statement explain the conclusion fully? But then the statement does not explain right. There is still some information missing which supports his decision

Normally, I would go for what you have told. But since the preference is room 2 over room 3, and we are to find a logic for that preference, my take would be -

What can we say about the strength of people attending?
It would surely be more than 8 and at the most 12 ( reason why room 1 is first preference).

Preferences : He surely would prefer a VC and Projector, and 2 and 3 have the same status.

Difference :
1. The difference is room 2 has 12 and room 3 has a max capacity of 20. Now, we know he expects at the most 12, so would a room with larger capacity than what is required preferable. If there is no Video Conferencing, he may want the best possible use of tele conferencing and smaller room may be a better choice.
2. Availability of room 2 on a later day. It is mentioned that he prefers the conference earlier in the week. Note he is not looking for the earliest in week. Maybe both Tuesday and Wednesday would fit in when we speak of earlier in the week.

Hi, sorry had a question about DI which is not related to the topic!

The on screen calculator that is provided to us to use in DI, can that be used via KEYBOARD as well? Since some DI questions, especially MSR ones, are long and may be math related involving calculations, using the calculator via Mouse takes too much of time! Any idea on this?

GMAT probably wants us to be tempted to use calculators even when not necessary . It will definitely take time , and many cases it’s better to estimate or use some logic

Look for the curve of Tik-tok. It is at 500 million in 2018 ( or mid 2018 as per the question). This would mean 500 million added in Sep-Dec 16, jan-dec 17, jan-jun 18 or 4+12+6 or 22 months. So 500/22 per month. However, the question mentions Tik-tok was launched in sep 2016 but the start point starts right above 2016. Also, the line starts at 250 million and not 0. Not a very neat way to put a graph across.

Also the curve talks about the number of active users. Not the total number of users.
So in 2018, the total number of users could be any number higher than the number of active users. How are we supposed to find the number of new users added?

Hi, Can someone please tell me the proper syllabus of data sufficiency for GMAT Focus Edition?

Is topics like - Graph and tables, Two-part analysis, multi-source reasoning part of GMAT Focus version?

It would be helpful if someone clarifies this...
