yesterday-between-9-00-a-m-and-6-00-p-m-at-airport-x-all-flights-to-272436.html

Yesterday between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. at Airport X, all flights to Atlanta departed at equally spaced times and all flights to New York City departed at equally spaced times. A flight to Atlanta and a flight to New York City both departed from Airport X at 1:00 p.m. yesterday. Between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. yesterday, did another pair of flights to these 2 cities depart from Airport X at the same time?

(1) Yesterday at Airport X, a flight to Atlanta and a flight to New York City both departed at 10:00 a.m.
(2) Yesterday at Airport X, flights to New York City departed every 15 minutes between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

In here both flights are equally spaced and their spacing aligns atleast every 3 hours according to S1 bc flight at 10 and 1, so according to this atleast a flight will depart at the same time at 4pm but we arent sure if before 4 it will too, is that correct ?

ribbons, Yes u r correct, we are not sure if before 4 pm if flights depart from Airport X at the same time or not.
Even with S2 alone or together with S1, we can’t predict (we require flight interval of flights to Atlanta also to deduce overlap and answer it)

ill try

both are needed

first option tells us the average speed and avaerage speed is total distance/total time. But nothing can be concluded about how far the school is from her home
