Based in New York - I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s in Sustainability in the Urban Environment from the City University of New York (CUNY), where I graduated as Salutatorian (Silver Medalist) with a 3.97 GPA. During my time at CUNY, I was awarded the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) Scholarship, and was selected as both a Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA) Scholar and a Waterfront Scholar.

At the CUNY Building Performance Lab, I work on infrastructure-focused energy efficiency initiatives in collaboration with the New York City Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS). I develop data-driven monitoring frameworks for capital infrastructure projects and conduct quantitative evaluations of HVAC systems through Building Re-Tuning methodologies. Translating technical analyses into implementation-oriented recommendations requires sustained collaboration with government officials and project managers, reinforcing the importance of aligning engineering insight with institutional and regulatory considerations.

I have also worked with an early-stage building science startup (Cadence OneFive), where I developed automated analytics for retrofit project evaluation and cost–benefit models for infrastructure monitoring initiatives. My research experience includes collaboration with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory on Synthetic Aperture Radar datasets for inundation mapping (NASA-ISRO NISAR mission), and I have co-authored a peer-reviewed conference paper on building energy efficiency estimation.

Before that at Arup, I managed infrastructure rehabilitation at JFK and LaGuardia Airports in collaboration with WSP and HNTB, contributed to the egress rehabilitation and expansion at Grand Central Terminal using LiDAR-based scanning to map existing conditions, and coordinated Positive Train Control rollout across NJ Transit — high-stakes, multi-stakeholder work where the gap between design and operational reality was a daily reality.

Additionally, I was selected from over five million applicants to represent Assam at the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2026, where my team presented our work on Small Modular Nuclear Reactors to cabinet ministers and the Prime Minister of India.

My long-term goal is to work at the intersection of enterprise strategy, infrastructure finance, and climate transition in India—either through consulting or advisory roles in energy and industrial decarbonization. I am aiming round 1 applications for 2027 intake and plan on taking the GMAT sometime during the summer.

My academic scores:

1) Class 10: 9.8/10 CGPA
2) Class 12: 80% (PCM + Comp Sci)
3) Bachelor's: 3.3/4.0 GPA, North Dakota State University (attended on full scholarship)
4) Master's: 3.97/4.0 GPA, City University of New York

I would appreciate your assessment of:

• My competitiveness for ISB PGP relative to recent admits
• Any gaps or potential red flags in my profile
• How well my experience aligns with my stated career goals
• Areas I should strengthen before applying
• What GMAT score should I be aiming for?
• Recommendations on positioning my narrative

Key strengths: international and atypical experience
Areas to think on: average/weak scores (GPA, GMAT); what's the evidence to prove a logical connection between your experience in Cummins and FMCG? Due diligence on the US job market (assuming the ST goal is to work in the USA), because US FMCGs rarely hire/sponsor international MBAs. Top-tier, scholarship-friendly means giving something meaningful to the school (read 'score').
Hope you've also been keeping track of the ME market. Do not lose your line of sight on this.

Hi
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, you present a good engineering degree, steady promotions, and the company sending you to the UK show that you are trusted and performing well, AdComs really appreciate that kind of growth and international exposure. Your goal to move from engineering into consumer business and entrepreneurship makes sense, especially if you explain how your operations and supply chain experience connects to building and scaling a business.

A 3.4 GPA is decent, and your GMAT is competitive. Your leadership work outside of work adds balance to your technical background. Your biggest task now is clearly telling your story and showing impact and leadership.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!
No pressure, no strings - just helpful insights on where you stand and how you can strengthen your chances.

Thanks for sharing your profile, @ExecutiveControl. You have a good operator-to-general-management trajectory with global exposure, a brand-name employer, and early promotions. Your outcomes will hinge on how well you translate the engineering and supply chain into consumer leadership potential.

Starting with your strengths: Global exposure with substance, company-sponsored US > UK transfer at Cummins (rare and valued). Career momentum: Promotion to Senior Product Engineer within 2 years. Relevant pre-GM skillset, product, supply chain optimization, tariff mitigation, cost savings, excellent foundation for CPG and GM roles. Clear long-term vision, MENA-focused consumer platform (distinct geography + purpose). Leadership beyond work, fundraising chair at society of Women Engineers, credible advocacy, and organizing experience.

Gaps:
GMAT vs top M7 medians. 655 GMAT FE score is not a red flag, but are you planning to retake? It's a stretch for some of the schools unless the story is exceptionally tight.

Consumer exposure is indirect; you must connect the supply chain > brand > consumer outcomes. Entrepreneurship goal needs grounding. Admissions will test “why now” and “why MBA” hard.

About the schools:
Tuck- Leadership + general management fit.
Darden- Case method, ops-to-GM transitions.
Fuqua- Team culture, CPG/GM outcomes.
NYU Stern- Strategy + entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Kellogg- Marketing/GM fit helps.
Booth- Quant strength helps, but goals must be tight.
Wharton- Very selective.

Positioning advice: Your winning narrative is not, “Engineer wants to switch to consumer.” It can be “Global supply chain leader who understands how products move, scale, and win in complex markets, and now wants to own brand, P&L, and growth.”

Tie: Tariff mitigation > pricing power.
Supply routes > resilience & market entry.
Ops decisions > consumer availability & brand trust.

Questions:
1) Which consumer categories in MENA and why (FMCG vs premium vs regulated)?
2) Any measurable cost savings or revenue impact you can quantify?
3) Do you want CPG brand roles first, or a GM/strategy role immediately post-MBA?

We’d love to learn more about your academic background, extracurricular activities, work experience, and personal journey so that we can provide a tailored profile evaluation and an honest school assessment. Feel free to book an evaluation session.

Hi
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, your profile looks good on the surface. A 675 FE score is decent and when coupled with 4+ years of experience, it will add credibility to your profile. For a better and detailed analysis of your chances at your target schools, I'd ask you to share more details about your work experience, academics, short and long term career goals.

Also, we are hosting a live webinar on “MBA Application Timeline: How to Plan Early for a Stronger Application” on Feb 27, 2026 (9:30 PM IST). It breaks down when to start test prep, essays, and recommendations so you stay ahead.

@tvgmat,
With your kind of diversity and GMAT scores, I'm not sure why you want to apply for these MBA programs. There are better schools for Real Estate. Besides, given your lower than MIT average of CGPA, you may not be in a position to get into super selective programs, unless of course you are able to offset that with a very high GMAT/GRE scores.

Also, given the lack of any mention of your ECs, and other aspects, we can't understand your demonstrated leadership potential.

Crafting compelling essays and stories will take time for you, esp since they would be extremely helpful to highlight your initiatives pitted against the challenges you have faced. Also, your planned goals would need to be clearer; well crafted description of ECs can also help you differentiate yourself.

Hope that helps. Please submit your profile for a Free Assessment over a 1:1 call. https://theivyleagueedge.com/index.php/contactus/

Hey
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, your profile looks strong for H/S/W but execution will matter a lot. UCL First Class in Economics + 5 years in London strategy roles is a solid foundation, especially with exposure to private equity and growth strategy. For VC goals, Bain PEG is particularly helpful. The key question will be: what is your actual investing exposure vs advisory exposure? H/S especially will look for evidence of judgment, ownership, and real impact, not just slide-making. If you can show meaningful work on diligence, value creation and tech-focused mandates, it strengthens the VC narrative significantly.

Your ECs are good but currently “nice to have” rather than differentiating. H/S/W will want depth, leadership, mentorship and something distinctive tied to your identity. Social impact work could be powerful if it’s sustained and shows ownership rather than participation.

Big swing factor will be your GMAT score. For your target schools, as an Indian male consultant, realistically you want 705+ to be competitive. I would also recommend that you categorize your school list into- target reach and safety schools, this will help you plan and apply better and thus enhance your chances of acceptance.

Also, we are hosting a live webinar on “MBA Application Timeline: How to Plan Early for a Stronger Application” on Feb 27, 2026 (9:30 PM IST). It breaks down when to start test prep, essays, and recommendations so you stay ahead.

Thanks for sharing your profile, @gujjuboi123. Let's start. You have: a Tier-1 consulting brand (Bain PEG London = strong signal), private equity exposure, global work experience (London), an academic pedigree (First Class from UCL), athletic leadership (national tennis), social impact engagement, and clear AI/VC interest.

You can be in the HSW pool. But here’s the honest reality: Indian male + consulting + VC goal = one of the most crowded applicant categories globally. Your success depends on differentiation and depth, not pedigree. Your academics are good. For H/S/W, target 695+ GMAT FE. If you get a score in the 705+ FE range, that would be nice. All the very best for the exam.

In terms of work experience, Adcom will ask:
1) Did you support investment due diligence?
2) Did you influence investment decisions?
3) Any exposure to AI/tech investments?
4) Did you interact with partners?
5) Did you lead workstreams?

PEG experience aligns well with VC. Accenture Strategy (Corporate Strategy & Growth) is good, but less differentiated. You must quantify impact: Revenue unlocked? Cost savings? Market entry success? Board-level presentation?

VC goal evaluation. VC is believable, but risky if vague. You must show: Startup ecosystem exposure, founder interaction, angel investing/scouting, tech thesis development and AI specialization beyond “interest”. Otherwise adcom sees “Consultant who wants to do VC.” That’s common.

VC & Market Reality (2027 Outlook). Venture capital hiring: smaller entry cohorts. Preference for: former operators, deep sector specialists, former founders, traditional consultants> VC path is narrowing, and AI-focused VC is even more competitive. Your Bain PEG exposure helps, but you need more startup immersion.

Things you can do next: Take the GMAT early, get staffed on tech-focused diligence, write a public AI investment thesis (LinkedIn/Substack), angel invest small tickets (if possible), join an angel syndicate/scout network, mentor early-stage founders and get a good partner-level recommendation. This will materially improve Stanford/HBS odds.

The biggest risk, your profile can read as: “High-performing consultant chasing the most prestigious outcome.” That narrative loses at Stanford and HBS. So, you must answer: Why VC? Why AI? Why now? Why you specifically?

Questions for you:
1) Have you led a full diligence independently?
2) Any tech-specific investment exposure?
3) Have you advised founders directly?
4) What’s your long-term vision in VC?
5) Do you want US or UK VC long-term?

We’d love to learn more about your academic background, extracurricular activities, work experience, and personal journey so that we can provide a tailored profile evaluation and an honest school assessment. Feel free to book an evaluation session.

Cheers!

Hey @Hello8995 Amit,
Your story is built well on the professional front, but MBA schools look for a lot more, including demonstrated examples of leadership in areas without formal authority

1. Not sure if your GPA is self converted, but for many top schools 2.4 (out of 4.0) is too low a GPA for them to consider. A very high GMAT score, highlighting how you fought your challenges in your context, your double degree (i.e. more rigorous coursework), and highlighting the benefits of your concurrent degree in Law would help make your case stronger
2. As already said earlier, 645 is a score on the lower side of most of these schools, though some others in the top rung would be a lot more accepting of these, provided you can build well on the 1. above
3. Clarity in your Career goal would help, and how would an MBA help you reach your stated goal

Hope that helps. Please submit your profile for a Free Assessment over a 1:1 call. https://theivyleagueedge.com/index.php/contactus/

Hi @Hello8995
Thanks for sharing your profile.

So, lets focus on your acad stats first. A 2.4 GPA is marginally lower than what’s seen at top B-Schools. To counteract this, you would need a very high GMAT. 645 will not help your case much.

In term of your work ex, this is where your strength lies. You’ve got a compelling profile with operations and automotive tech but it all comes down to how you convey your experiences here in a manner that justifies your motivations and ambitions. You haven’t defined your post-MBA goals in tech and this is important to understand to better assess your school fit.

Right now, looking at your school list, many of these won’t make the cut because of your low GMAT score and specialization choice. MIT Sloan would suit your profile but you need to bump your GMAT to 710+. If you get somewhere in the range of 695+, you can target CMU Tepper, Berkeley Haas, and Michigan Ross as these schools have a strong tech/ops pipeline and align with your profile.

Also, do you have any inclination towards European B-Schools or you’re purely focused on US B-Schools?

We suggest that for now you consider retaking the GMAT to increase your score and think about your short- and long-term goals after an MBA. Having this clarity now will help you a lot with your MBA prep.

We’d love to offer a free 1-on-1 profile evaluation to dive deeper into your strengths, discuss more about your portfolio, talk through your fit across schools, and co-create a tailored application game plan!

@Avcffdxfdx5434,
When schoolss see a very deserving profile, and "asses" (as per their metrics), that the applicant would get admission to other top ranking schools (and would therefore not join them, in this case HEC), they would rather ding that applicant than risk their "yield metrics".
It may sound weird but this kind of a balanced understanding comes from years, and more of the experience of good admissions consulting...

Hope that helps. Please submit your profile for a Free Assessment over a 1:1 call. https://theivyleagueedge.com/index.php/contactus/

Hey @cg_30,
Many parts of your profile provide a very strong base for you to work on, and most M7 schools would also consider you seriously. Given your results, I suspect one or more of your components, from Essays, LORs, Clarity of career Goals and alignment to demonstrated examples of leadership may have been lacking.

If you have the risk appetite, ask IE to defer your admissions for a year, and take a chance at top schools again, some even as a reapplicant.

Hope that helps. Please submit your profile for a Free Assessment over a 1:1 call. https://theivyleagueedge.com/index.php/contactus/

- Acted as lead of event conduction for center for innovation and incubation (a startup incubator body of the college)

Work Experience
Software developer at BNY since 2023. Joined as associate and later promoted to Senior Associate in 2025.
- Worked in many projects across multiple tech stacks
- led many projects from scratch

I think I lack social service activities, but I’m planning to get involved in some now. I’d really appreciate it if you could suggest some good options.

Consider applying with at least 4+ years of experience and a strong score on the GMAT (705+)/GRE (330+). Get into social service/volunteering only if you believe in it, not to tick a box in your application. Stick to your strengths and strengthen them further. Be clear what you understand by consulting (beyond the perceived glamor people tend to associate with it), the skills expected in consultants, evidence of those skills in your work experience and most importantly, what kind of consulting post-MBA (99% of candidates quote 'strategy consulting' without having a clue of what strategy even means).

Thanks for sharing your profile, @Siddharth17. Let's start with what’s working for you:
1) Strong academics: NIT Warangal (8.02), solid 10th/12th.
2) Fast trajectory: Promotion to Senior Associate at BNY within ~2 years.
3) Real leadership signals: Project ownership, mentoring, hiring panels.
4) Tech to Consulting pivot makes sense (problem-solving, client exposure, scale).

Gaps:
GMAT/GRE missing, target: GMAT FE 675-695+ (or GRE equivalent).

Goals need sharpening: “consulting” is broad, define the type (strategy/ops/tech transformation), industries, and why now.

Social impact, not mandatory, but a light, authentic commitment, helps.

About the schools:
ISB: Your profile fits their tech + leadership mix.

LBS: Target/Stretch depending on GMAT. Emphasize global exposure and leadership.

INSEAD: Stretch unless GMAT is strong and goals are crisp; highlight multicultural teamwork and consulting readiness.

Other schools that you can explore include IESE, HEC Paris, and Cambridge Judge.

What to do next:
1) Test score: Lock GMAT/GRE early.
2) Leadership stories: Quantify impact (revenue saved, users scaled, risk reduced).
3) Social impact (light but real): Tech-for-good (coding workshops, NGO analytics), mentoring first-gen students, sustained commitment > one-off volunteering.

Tips for Essays:
Frame your arc as “builder > leader > advisor”:
Electrical engineering > scalable tech delivery at BNY > advising organizations on transformation (consulting).

Questions:
1) Which consulting vertical do you want (tech transformation, ops, financial services)?
2) What decision did you own end-to-end that changed outcomes?
3) Why INSEAD/LBS/ISB specifically for your pivot (clubs, recruiting pipelines, curriculum)?

We’d love to learn more about your academic background, extracurricular activities, work experience, and personal journey so that we can provide a tailored profile evaluation and an honest school assessment. Feel free to book an evaluation session.

You can register for our Upcoming Coffee Session on “INSEAD R1 & The Job Market Reality: A Candid Chat with a recent INSEAD Graduate” MORE DETAILS

Agree with @dee1pug1 here. You can wait a few years for strengthening your profile. With regards to work experience, you are going in the right direction. Taking leadership of projects, delivering them impactfully and often beyond expectations: these help to strengthen your narrative. But, how do you differentiate yourself from the large number of competing applicants with similar profiles? Another 2-3 years of work experience will be useful in building those unique factors that will make your profile shine. Use them strategically to build yourself some advantage.

I'd also advise you to probe your career goals and evaluate whether consulting is the right fit career goal for you given your past experience and possibly your career interests. Have conversations with people in your network to understand what they do and what are the pros and cons. Similarly, have conversations with senior managers you admire in your organization to understand their work. Right now is the best time to build awareness on different career paths so that when you finally apply, you are more informed and make the right career decisions. This is super important from an admissions perspective as well.

Take up activities that speak to your interests and past experiences. If something like mentoring others on technology feels more natural, then pursue that, but do it more grandly and persistently than helping bunch of folks here and there. Eventually, you should be able to quantify bullets related to your ECAs, so be intentional about using your time in these activities.

Hey @Siddharth17,
Most of the European MBA programs are shorter in duration, and look for greater years of WE. Given your Indian, Male, Engineer profile, WE of 4+ years will definitely pitch you in a better position.
While my own Indian Engineer applicant/candidates have gone to LBS & INSEAD with ~3 years of WE, the rest of their application has been very strong, and the stories compelling.

Do you have to have Social Service in your resume. The answer is a clear NO, but you would need examples of demonstrated leadership outside of your Work Space, whether they were in organizing events, or aligning teams or such.

That said, given your Indian Male Engineer Status, a higher than average GMAT score and good Extra-Curriculars (including those in college) would help you differentiate well.

Hope that helps. Please submit your profile for a Free Assessment over a 1:1 call. https://theivyleagueedge.com/index.php/contactus/

I am a TV journalist in Manitoba, Canada. I have a Bachelor's Degree (Hons.) in English Literature with Journalism and Psychology. Other than that, I have a post-secondary diploma in Broadcast Journalism from Seneca College, Toronto.

In terms of professional experience, I have now worked for about 2 years with Global News as an On-camera talent/reporter. Other than that, I have internship experiences with CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Channel), Indian Express and the Tribune. On top of that, I have freelance project experience with Bethel University, Minnesota -- where I produced a long-form documentary on Haryana's (India) dairy industry and a magazine that was published in the states about Haryana's agricultural and social state. The project was shot in India but it was created for Bethel University's journalism department.

In the terms of school projects, I was the editor in chief of my college's (SD College) annual journalism magazine for two years where I contributed to the college's design curriculum and updated their digital tools. I overlooked everything from gathering content to publishing the magazine.

In terms of personal achievements, I published a anthropology of about 60 poetic pieces when I was 16 -- which was honoured by the Haryana Granth Academy in 2016. (Note -- I did not pay for publication)

Finally my academics. They aren't great.

10th grade - 8.8 CGPA
12th grade - 74.3 % (Non Medical, PCM)
Bachelor's - 63.5 % (First Division)
Journalism Diploma - 3.2 GPA out of 4.

My target school is Indian School of Business. I am unsure about my profile and what things I could improve on. I like some other schools too like MICA, Ahemdabad or IIM Bangalore. But again, I am unsure about my profile. I don't have great academics but I have a lot of experience working with different cohort of people around the world. My strength is the diversity. My weakness is academics.

I want to either get into Marketing or product management.

Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, you have a strong base overall – CA + M&A tax/regulatory work + top 5 rank in college + solid GPA. For PE as a post-MBA goal, your deal exposure will matter more than just academics, so try to move closer to valuation, modeling, and commercial decision-making rather than only structuring or compliance.

Since you’ll have about 3 years of work ex at application, you’ll be slightly on the lower side for your target schools, so impact and leadership at work will be key. For your school list, I’d recommend targeting at least 685+ on GMAT FE to stay competitive as an Indian male candidate. Focus on building a sharp “Why PE, why now, why MBA” story.

Also, we are hosting a live webinar on “MBA Application Timeline: How to Plan Early for a Stronger Application” on Feb 27, 2026 (9:30 PM IST). It breaks down when to start test prep, essays, and recommendations so you stay ahead.

Hi Iruka, It will be helpful to understand more details about your profile. Are you a CA (& commerce graduate) working in a law firm? If your work experience is all regulatory, then it will be very difficult to move into PE (which is impossible for most MBA candidates, not matter what, because the jobs are so few for a very competitive industry). Pitching plausible career goals is of utmost importance as that alone can be the reason for rejection. So I encourage you to speak with multiple students and alumni from your target programs to get a better understanding of post-MBA recruitments. I'd be happy to have a chat as well.

Hey @Iruka,
Having helped Indian Law Graduate applicants into Business Programs (with goals similar to yours), I believe that you have a decent chance at global top brands (Assuming you can get decent enough GMAT score, show good ECs and leadership through ECs). That said, I would also suggest you paln your career goals well so they are better aligned with your past expertise

Hope that helps. Please submit your profile for a Free Assessment over a 1:1 call. https://theivyleagueedge.com/index.php/contactus/

I have 5 years of experience in the tech industry, primarily working as a Data Engineer. During this time, I have contributed to digital transformation initiatives at Piramal Glass and Tiger Analytics, helping modernize data infrastructure and implement cloud-based solutions. At Tiger Analytics, I worked with over 10 Fortune 500 clients, designing scalable data pipelines and actionable analytics platforms.

In addition to my full-time roles, I have also worked as a freelance developer for a healthcare startup based in the U.S., where I led the development of AI-driven software solutions. These tools helped the company reduce operational time by 70%, demonstrating the tangible impact of combining domain knowledge with advanced tech.

Post-MBA, I aim to transition into a strategic product or technology management role in a global tech or consulting firm, where I can drive data-led innovation and digital transformation.

Some thoughts and clarifications on your profile, @Krutarth21:

1. GPA is good, what was your undergrad university/ pedigree? Any scope to improve on the GMAT, if you were to retake? The strength of your score will depend on your target programs.

2. Professional arc is strong, given the employer brand, and digital transformation experiences. Have there been any promotion/ progression in your roles?

3. Do you have any schools in mind, or is that TBD? FYI, top MBA programs for consulting careers are here: https://admitstreet.com/blog/best-busin ... onsulting/ and tech careers are here: https://admitstreet.com/blog/best-busin ... -industry/

Hope this helps. Feel free to reach out for a deeper chat.

Thank you for sharing your profile @Krutarth21. Based on the details you’ve provided, you present a compelling candidacy rooted in strong technical experience, a good academic record, and a sense of direction for your post-MBA career. That said, in today’s highly competitive MBA landscape, especially for overrepresented profiles like Indian male engineers, it’s important to craft an application that not only showcases your achievements but also sets you apart in meaningful, authentic ways. You can take a look at this blog on: Over-represented MBA applicant pool

You come with 5 years of experience in the technology sector, specializing in data engineering. Your work at Tiger Analytics and Piramal Glass reflects high-impact contributions, particularly in driving digital transformation and building scalable, cloud-based data platforms. Serving over 10 Fortune 500 clients is a significant credential that not only speaks to the caliber of your projects but also suggests strong client-facing and project management skills. What’s especially impressive is your freelance work for a U.S.-based healthcare startup, where you led AI-driven product development and achieved a 70% reduction in operational time, a clear example of innovation and quantifiable impact. These experiences will resonate strongly with top programs looking for candidates who bridge technical depth with strategic thinking.

Academically, your 3.86 GPA is nice and places you in the top tier academically for most programs. However, your GMAT Focus score of 675 is good but can be slightly low for some top-tier programs, particularly when factoring in your demographic group. Indian male applicants from tech backgrounds typically face the highest competition pools.

From a positioning perspective, your post-MBA goal to transition into strategic product or technology management at a global tech or consulting firm is a natural evolution of your career. This goal looks realistic and aligned with your background, especially given your exposure to AI, data engineering, and client solutions. However, top programs will want to see depth in your leadership experience. If you have mentored junior colleagues, led cross-functional teams, or driven initiatives independently, make sure to highlight those leadership stories prominently. Furthermore, you haven’t mentioned any extracurriculars or community involvement, which are crucial differentiators. Schools value applicants who demonstrate interests and impact beyond the workplace, be it through mentoring, volunteering, sports, or creative pursuits. If you have such experiences, even in smaller capacities, bring them to the forefront. You can take a look at this blog on: Extracurricular Activities for MBA

In terms of schools, you shall explore MIT Sloan, Kellogg, INSEAD, LBS, Berkeley Haas, Fuqua, Tepper, UCLA Anderson, ISB, NUS, NTU, Rotman, IESE, ESMT, and IE Business School. To further personalize your application strategy, we’d suggest reflecting on a few questions: Have you led teams or initiatives formally or informally? What do you do outside of work, volunteering, mentoring, or community work, that reflects your values and interests? Have you received any awards or recognition, either in your full-time roles or as a freelancer? And how specific are you about your post-MBA role? Can you name the kind of companies and functions you're aiming for, like Product Manager at AWS, or Strategy & Ops at McKinsey’s Digital division?

If you’re open to it, we’d love to learn more about your journey so we can offer a deeper, more personalized assessment of your profile. Feel free to book a profile evaluation session. [/url]

Cheers!

Hi @Krutarth21,

With 5 years of experience in the tech industry and an excellent 3.86 GPA, you bring a strong profile, especially through your work as a Data Engineer at Piramal Glass and Tiger Analytics. Your contributions to digital transformation and data modernization - particularly across projects for 10+ Fortune 500 clients speak to both technical expertise and an ability to drive business impact. Additionally, your freelance work for a US-based healthcare startup, where you led AI-driven solution development that reduced operational time by 70%, showcases initiative & innovation.

While your GMAT Focus score of 675 is decent, it is slightly on the lower side for top-tier programs. Also, being an Indian applicant with a tech background, you would be part of an overrepresented candidate pool - I’d encourage you to retake the GMAT and aim to improve your score by 20-30 points to strengthen your application.

LBS, INSEAD, NUS, Nanyang, Rotman, and McGill are some schools you can consider given your preferences.

To strengthen your applications further, focus on demonstrating leadership and strategic thinking in your roles - especially where you influenced business decisions or stakeholder outcomes. Clarify how your technical background aligns with your post-MBA goal of moving into a strategic product or technology management role, and highlight what specific skills or exposure you seek from the MBA to enable that shift.

To maximize your chances, consider applying to a balanced mix of reach, target, and safety schools. Feel free to book a free call with our MBA experts for a more detailed discussion. You can also contact us directly at [email protected] or +91-7780769732.
