@Musagarw123 I'm impressed with several aspects of your profile-- you have some excellent work experience with measurable results, you've distinguished yourself as a top performer at a top company and you have shown leadership in your entrepreneurial and extracurricular activities. I see HEC Paris as a great option for you. I visited the campus in 2024 and was blown away by the friendly atmosphere and beauty of the campus. I'd be happy to help you in your journey and the best start is to do a free consult with me, which you can do from this link: https://www.stratusadmissionscounseling ... sultation/
Hi Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, your profile looks solid and well-rounded for INSEAD and HEC. A 635 FE looks decent, especially with 4 years at Cisco, a promotion, strong enterprise exposure, and measurable impact. The Ideathon selection and silver medal add differentiation. Your internal platform build + enablement sessions show leadership beyond pure technical work, which is important. The entrepreneurial nonprofit actually helps, ethical shutdown decisions show maturity. Academically, 8.43 is strong and the research paper adds intellectual credibility.
Tech consulting to product marketing pivot needs clear storytelling, and you’ll need strong international motivation for Europe. If possible, pushing GMAT closer to 655–675 would strengthen odds. Focus heavily on “why now,” why Europe specifically, and how your security background uniquely positions you for product strategy.
Also, since you are applying for 2027 intake, planning early will really help. We’re hosting a live webinar on “MBA Application Timeline: How to Plan Early for a Stronger Application” on Feb 27, 2026 (9:30 PM IST). It breaks down when to start test prep, essays, and recommendations so you stay ahead.
I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help! No pressure, no strings - just helpful insights on where you stand and how you can strengthen your chances.
Hey @Musagarw123, good list of achievements, both at work and in acads. Given the competitive applicant pool at HEC & INSEAD, you may be better placed in retrying your GRE for a higher score.
Hope that helps. Please submit your profile for a Free Assessment over a 1:1 call. https://theivyleagueedge.com/index.php/contactus/ _________________ Bala

Thanks for sharing your profile, @Musagarw123. You have several strengths: Global tech brand (Cisco), high-responsibility client-facing role, escalation ownership (leadership under pressure), security domain (valuable & differentiated), entrepreneurial attempt (ethical closure = powerful story), and being a female in cybersecurity (rare and attractive to schools).
Your weaknesses: GMAT 635 is below the INSEAD median, slightly execution-heavy narrative currently, need stronger “strategy” positioning vs technical support, and Europe post-MBA clarity must be sharp. You can take a look at this latest blog on "The INSEAD Job Market Reality Check"
Try to aim for a 675+ GMAT FE score. The higher the better.
Work experience evaluation: Handled 100+ global enterprise clients, owned 50+ critical escalations annually, led major security incident resolutions, and interfaced with senior leadership, improved operational efficiency by 20–40%. This is leadership under ambiguity.
But you must shift the framing from: “I resolve tickets.” to “I lead cross-functional crisis response for global security risks impacting enterprise revenue and trust.”
That changes perception significantly.
Entrepreneurial story, your community bulk-buying initiative is GOLD, if framed properly. You: identified a market inefficiency, aggregated demand, generated 20% savings, and made ethical decision to shut down. This signals integrity + business instinct + leadership. That is good for INSEAD and HEC.
Europe career reality (Important): Product marketing/tech strategy in Europe: Visa landscape improving but competitive, product roles often require EU language skills. Germany, the Netherlands, and France are growing in cybersecurity; your cybersecurity domain is actually attractive in Europe.
But you need to articulate an industry thesis. Example: “European cybersecurity market fragmentation and regulatory expansion (GDPR, NIS2) creates strategic product positioning gaps.”
That shows strategic depth. What makes you different? Your spikes: Female cybersecurity engineer, crisis management under enterprise pressure, ethical entrepreneurial shutdown, global client exposure early in career, and internal product/process builder. This is not a generic tech profile.
Other schools that you can explore: IESE, ESADE, IMD, and London Business School.
Questions for you: 1) Have you influenced product roadmap decisions? 2) Any revenue impact from your escalations? 3) Do you have budget authority? 4) Why Europe specifically? 5) Which countries? 6) Long-term entrepreneurship in what domain?
We’d love to learn more about your academic background, extracurricular activities, work experience, and personal journey so that we can provide a tailored profile evaluation and an honest school assessment. Feel free to book an evaluation session.
M.Sc. (Thesis) in Chemical Engineering – University of Alberta
Published 2 peer-reviewed papers Best Poster Award – Hydrotransport Conference (2023) B.Eng. in Chemical Engineering – University of Mumbai Work Experience (~4 years total)
Experience across EPCM consulting, municipal water infrastructure, industrial wastewater, tailings systems, and pipeline-related projects in Canada and India Supported capital projects from feasibility and design through construction and commissioning Exposure to large industrial/energy clients (Suncor, Syncrude, Pembina) Worked cross-functionally with civil, mechanical, electrical, and operations teams Progressed from technical design support to broader project coordination and operational readiness involvement
Research Experience: Graduate research focused on improving modeling approaches for industrial pipeline systems Worked closely with industry stakeholders to translate research into practical applications Strengthened analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills
Leadership & Extracurriculars: VP – Marketing & Advertising (2x), Faculty of Engineering Graduate Research Symposium, University of Alberta APEGA- Led branding, outreach, sponsorship coordination, and event promotion Co-Chair Marketing – International Students’ Association Drove engagement across a diverse student body Led marketing initiatives at international environmental technology exhibitions (IFAT 2018, 2019)
Thanks for sharing your profile, @sonali05. Let's start with your strengths: Academically credible, technically rigorous, industry-exposed (real capital projects), research + applied bridge profile, female engineer (diversity positive), and structured thinking background.
Your risks: No GMAT yet (critical for the Indian engineer pool), consulting narrative must be intentional, need clearer leadership beyond student marketing roles, and MBB goals must be sharply justified.
For your target schools: Kellogg/Booth/HBS average GMAT FE ≈ 695–715, and Haas has an average GMAT score of 733 (Classic).
For Indian engineers: You should target 705+ GMAT Focus minimum. A higher score shall make you comfortable at the top B-schools.
Your experience is more strategic than you may realize. Strengths: Infrastructure & energy capital projects, cross-functional exposure, feasibility to commissioning lifecycle exposure, industry stakeholder translation (research > practice), and exposure to major energy clients.
What’s missing: explicit leadership stories, business impact metrics, cost savings/revenue impact quantification, and decision-making authority. Right now, it reads technicalbut no t yet managerial.
MBB Goal: Is it logical? Yes, but needs reframing. Instead of “I want MBB,” you can say, “I want to advise energy transition, infrastructure modernization, and capital-intensive systems transformation.” That connects your past > consulting logically.
Your background is relevant for energy transition practice, infrastructure transformation, sustainability consulting, and industrial operations strategy. This can actually be a consulting profile if positioned correctly.
What’s your differentiator? Potential spikes: energy + wastewater + pipeline modeling (very niche, valuable), research-to-industry translation, sustainability/infrastructure modernization story, female engineer in heavy industrial space, and international (Canada + India) exposure.
You are not “just another engineer.” But you must articulate that clearly.
Things you can focus on next: Take the GMAT, seek formal leadership at work (lead a team or workstream), quantify business impact in projects, lead an initiative tied to sustainability or energy transition, continue publishing or presenting industry work, and get visible in client-facing situations.
Questions for you: 1) Have you ever led a project workstream independently? 2) Any budget responsibility? 3) Have you influenced client decisions? 4) What is one failure that shaped your leadership? 5) Why not stay in energy and grow into management there? 6) Why MBA vs lateral consulting hire?
We’d love to learn more about your academic background, extracurricular activities, work experience, and personal journey so that we can provide a tailored profile evaluation and an honest school assessment. Feel free to book an evaluation session.
Good profile; a strong GMAT/GRE score would be super crucial for the schools you seem to have selected. You would need to have a strong narrative about why consulting, what kinds, evidence of the three skills any consultant needs, and your understanding of how/why these schools can help. - Dee MBA admissions consultant and management consultant | E: [email protected]
Hi @sonali05, interesting profile overall, given your academic pedigree, consulting exposure and leadership stints.
Some more details can help assess your profile better: GMAT/ GRE score (have you taken the exam/ mocks?), which companies have you worked in, any promotions(?), any extracurricular involvement after graduation?, etc.
The right mix of schools would also depend on your score amongst other factors such as your career goals, geographic preferences, financial/ personal considerations etc.
Hi Sonali Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, you have a strong and differentiated profile. A Master’s in Chemical Engineering, two peer-reviewed publications, and industry-linked research already place you in a strong academic bucket. Your GPA looks decent for your target programs.
With about 4 years of experience, your timing looks good for M7 programs. What will matter most now is how you frame your transition to consulting. Schools will ask: 1. Why move from energy engineering to MBB? 2. What leadership and decision-making exposure have you had beyond technical execution? 3. Have you influenced stakeholders, budgets, timelines, or strategic choices?
Your leadership roles are helpful, especially since they show communication skills beyond engineering. But for your target schools, you will need clear examples of leading teams, driving outcomes, and stepping into ambiguous, high-impact situations.
Focus on building visible leadership and clearly articulate your “Why consulting?” story. Anything on your GMAT score or any mock scores?
I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help! No pressure, no strings - just helpful insights on where you stand and how you can strengthen your chances.
I hold an M.Tech in Oils, Oleochemicals & Surfactants Technology from ICT Mumbai (CGPA 9.61/10, Rank 2) and a B.Tech in the same discipline from the same institution. I have close to 6 years of experience in FMCG, entirely within Research & Development across some of India's most prominent consumer goods companies. My career spans HUL (Hair Care), L'Oréal India (Skin Cleansing), and Marico Industries (Premium Personal Care), where I spent nearly 4 years managing formulation development and NPD for domestic and international markets.
After six years in FMCG R&D — building formulations, driving innovation pipelines, and working closely with brands like Mamaearth and Aqualogica — I've developed a deep understanding of how products are built. But I've consistently found myself drawn to the why behind business decisions: which categories to enter, how to position a brand, where to place strategic bets. R&D gave me the foundation. An MBA is the bridge.
I have around two years of full-time work experience as a Senior Associate in the Quantitative and Logical Reasoning team at a leadin Edtech platform. My role involves developing reasoning modules, designing problem sets, and creating academic content used by students preparing for exams such as CAT, GMAT, and XAT. The work focuses on building logical reasoning questions, reviewing solutions, conducting classes and contributing to structured learning material used across programs.
I completed my undergraduate degree in Agricultural Engineering. During my undergraduate years, I completed a GIS and Remote Sensing internship with Albedo Foundation, where I worked with satellite imagery and spatial data using QGIS. I also completed a vocational training program with Mahindra & Mahindra’s farm division that involved tractor servicing workflows, equipment operations, and village visits to collect feedback from farmers through structured questionnaires. Outside academics and work, I have been actively involved in cricket. I captained my junior college and academy teams and participated in inter-college and state-level tournaments.
I recently appeared for GMAT FE and my score is around the average. I am a Bachelor of Commerce Graduate, GPA 9.55. My 2 internships during graduation include, one at ITC Ltd, a conglemerate, and another at a luxury jewellery brand. Extra curriculars include active participation in college fests and a research paper written under the guidance of a professor. Which universities can I apply to? Interested programmes: Masters in Management or Maters in Marketing
Hi @shivangi2202 ! Your profile showcases a good academic foundation with a 9.55 GPA and relevant internships at ITC Ltd and a luxury jewelry brand, which provide valuable practical exposure. Active participation in college fests and a research paper further enhance your candidacy. However, your GMAT Focus score of 555 is slightly below the average for highly competitive MiM or Marketing programs, which could limit opportunities at top-tier schools. To strengthen your profile, consider retaking the GMAT and aiming for a score in the 595–645 range. Focus on crafting a compelling narrative around your academic achievements and internship experiences to maximize your chances. We would like to know more about your profile and getting to know more details, will help us identify if you can pull out good stories from your experience and we can discuss about the target programs accordingly.
Given your strong academic background and internship experiences with ITC Ltd and a luxury jewelry brand, how do you see your skills and knowledge aligning with a Master's in Management or Marketing? What specific aspects of these programs are you most interested in pursuing? Buckshot Roulette
Aaditya Bhargava is a Manager in the Performance Improvement practice at Alvarez & Marsal, based in Singapore, with six years of consulting experience across Australia and Southeast Asia. He specializes in large-scale digital transformation and operational performance improvement within capital-intensive industries, including mining, infrastructure, defence, transport, and retail.
Aaditya holds both a Bachelor’s (2017) and Master’s (2019) degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from The University of Western Australia. His academic research focused on improving the accuracy of brain–machine interfaces, combining advanced signal processing with applied machine learning. During university, he won EY’s national “Survive the Panel” student entrepreneur competition, demonstrating early commercial acumen alongside technical depth.
Professionally, Aaditya began his career in Consulting at Deloitte, where he worked on digital and operational transformation programs across mining, transportation, and defence. He later joined Alvarez & Marsal as a Senior Associate and was promoted to Manager, reflecting strong delivery performance and leadership trajectory.
At A&M, Aaditya has led critical workstreams within complex, enterprise-wide transformations. He managed the process stream of a US$11 million global digital transformation for a major mining company, delivering on time and under budget. He contributed to a US$50 million+ IT/OT roadmap for a global gold miner and played a leadership role in the digital transformation of a US$3B+ EPCM organization. He has also led supply chain programs delivering ~US$9M in cash savings, conducted carve-out due diligence on a New Zealand data center asset acquired at a 30x valuation, and generated and converted a US$0.5M mandate to establish and migrate 300+ FTEs to an overseas captive center.
He regularly leads teams of 2–4 consultants and works closely with C-suite stakeholders, positioning himself on a trajectory toward Managing Director.
@aadityabhargava, INSEAD is super selective, and therefore high GMAT/GRE scores would be extremely helpful. It's great however, that you have started to think about the application even before you have taken your GMAT, since crafting a compelling story may take you time, and could help you highlight your initiatives pitted against the challenges you have faced.
Your acads and WE are attractive, not merely in terms of exposure, but also because they can be aligned well to your planned goals. Well crafted mention of ECc can also help you differentiate yourself.
Hi @aadityabhargava Thanks for sharing your profile.
You’ve got a really impressive profile given the work experiences you have accumulated and the international exposure you have gained. The portfolios you have handled are great and will definitely add a lot of value to your essays.
Given that you want to stay in consulting, you need to figure out what exactly your post-MBA ambitions are within this space and why exactly do you need the MBA to get to this stage when you’re already working in this industry.
Before pointing out school fits, it’s important to keep in mind that you should target 700+ in GMAT or 327+ in GRE because with your profile, you have the chance to apply to some top-notch B-School.
If the score is in place, then INSEAD is the best fit for you because their consulting pipeline is the strongest and your Australia/SEA experience plays in your favour here. You should also prioritize LBS. HEC Paris and IESE are some other strong contenders for you. If you’re interested in US options, then Booth and Kellogg are great for consulting. But European schools are more established in consulting.
We’d love to offer a free 1-on-1 profile evaluation to dive deeper into your strengths, discuss more about your portfolio, talk through your fit across schools, and co-create a tailored application game plan!
HI Aditya, Here are a few points based on the info you shared: 1. First and foremost, INSEAD values international experience, and you seem to have abundance with undergrad in Australia and work experience in Singapore. Make sure to bring this out amply through various essays and resume. More than just mentioning that you studied/worked abroad, demonstrate how these experiences shaped your personality and world view. 2. The work experience with A&M makes you competitive. You have shared some achievement stats, which look good. But, do add an element of leadership while explaining these - for example how did you take initiative, influence others through conflicts and resistance to achieve common goals, take others along, negotiate, etc.etc. 3. Your academic grades look good, so no suggestions on the GPA and best of luck for the GMAT. 4. Career goals- you write that you are on a trajectory to MD - if you are already on an accelerated career path, why do you need an MBA? While it may be a common path for consultants to do an MBA and return to consulting, you must still have a convincing reasoning as to why you need the degree. What skill and knowledge gaps do you need to fulfill to achieve your career goals? Showing that you have an ambitious career plan and truly need to upgrade yourself through an MBA (rather than perceiving it as a check box) will help make a more solid argument for gaining admission. 5. You have not mentioned any extra curricular activities, but these are important. The INSEAD application has an essay asking about ECAs, so if you have not pursued any ECAs since college, then now is the time you should build on this aspect. Hope that helps,
Hi @aadityabhargava. We’d love to learn more about your academic background, extracurricular activities, work experience, and personal journey so that we can provide a tailored profile evaluation and an honest school assessment. Feel free to book an evaluation session.
Your academic (Bachelor's and Master's) pedigree is strong, how were your GPAs? For top-tier programs like INSEAD or the M7, targeting a 685+ on the GMAT would be ideal.
Your work-ex is interesting, given the Big-4/ A&M brands, international exposure and career progression. Besides the tangible impact, also make sure you highlight the soft skills involved in managing consultants and navigating C-suite relationships. Ofcourse, some high-impact personal anecdotes would also help strengthen the overall narrative for schools such as INSEAD.
The 'why MBA' and 'why now' would be crucial angles to consider i.e. are you looking to return to A&M in a more senior capacity, or are you considering a pivot? If the former, why would you still need an MBA, and if the latter, what are your career goals post-MBA?
Given your international exposure and Singapore base, INSEAD is an ideal pick. However, your profile would also be competitive for US T15 programs. The right mix of schools would also depend on the GMAT score.
Hope this helps. Feel free to reach out for a deeper discussion.
Hi Aaditya Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, your profile looks strong and well-positioned for INSEAD. Your 6 years of consulting experience across Deloitte and Alvarez & Marsal, with clear progression to Manager and solid international exposure adds credibility to your profile. INSEAD values global mobility and multicultural exposure, and your regional footprint works in your favor.
Academically, your GPA is strong, especially combined with a Master’s in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and research in machine learning. The entrepreneurial win at EY also adds an early leadership/commercial signal.
On the professional side, your impact metrics stand out. These are exactly the kind of tangible outcomes INSEAD likes to see. Leading teams and working directly with C-suite stakeholders strengthens your leadership narrative.
Your main focus now should be scoring competitively on the GMAT. Also, ensure clarifying “Why MBA" if you’re already on a strong consulting trajectory, and articulating how INSEAD will specifically help you accelerate towards your goals.
I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help! No pressure, no strings - just helpful insights on where you stand and how you can strengthen your chances.

I’m working as an Assistant Manager in a Nationalised bank for the past 4 years .Prior to my job I’ve also actively worked with an NGO “Guardians of dreams” as their shelter volunteer for a year. My profile is Gen non English female with 9.8/82.4/8.22
Hi Aparna Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, you bring a stable and credible background. 4 years as an Assistant Manager in a nationalized bank gives you strong finance exposure. Being a female candidate from a non-engineering background also adds diversity, which ISB values. Your NGO experience with “Guardians of Dreams” shows social commitment, make sure you highlight impact, not just participation.
Focus on highlighting about the skills have you built. You will also have to clearly explain how ISB will help you bridge the gap in your skillset to achieve your post-MBA goals. ISB is competitive, so your GMAT score will also be important. Any mock scores yet?
Also, I’d highly recommend watching this YouTube video where ISB’s Admissions Director shares insights for applicants, it gives very clear guidance on what they look for and how to position yourself. GMAT - 755 (100%tile) attended the top commerce school and program in India - Shri ram college of commerce, worked at local firms in my country. lots of extra-curriculars in college and held PORs in clubs and committees. wondering if my gmat score makes up for poor gpa and score extra points for top mim programs in europe. thank you for your help.
Well done for 755. Yes, the score helps you offset the average GPA. I just had my candidate from Italy get double admits (HEC, ESSEC) with strong scholarships. What worked with him were his narratives that showcased his motivation, initiatives, leadership, and impact. Happy to put you in touch with him (See this post: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/success- ... 24064-WtCC?) - Dee MBA Admissions Consultant & Management Consultant | E: [email protected]
Hi Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, a 755 GMAT is a massive strength and that definitely puts you in the top academic bucket for European MiM programs. Combined with SRCC and strong extracurricular leadership, you’re clearly a strong candidate.
Now about the GPA, yes, it’s on the lower side but your GMAT absolutely helps offset that. A score like 755 signals strong analytical ability and academic readiness. If there were reasons behind the GPA (tough grading, upward trend, extracurricular commitments), use the optional essay smartly.
AdComs will look closely at: 1. Quality of internships/work experience 2. Leadership depth and not just titles 3. International exposure 4. Clear career goals

It's too early for an MBA, even if you're aiming for the R1 2027 application or the fall intake. Aim to have at least four years of experience when applying. Just my viewpoint.
Hi Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, with about 1-2 years of work experience, it’s simply too early to apply for full time MBA programs. These schools typically look for 4–6+ years of strong, progressive work experience with clear leadership and impact.
Your IIT Madras background is a solid academic foundation, and a 7.69 CGPA is fine. But what will matter much more for these schools is: promotions, leadership responsibility, measurable impact, international exposure, and a clear reason for pivoting into finance. For ISB YLP, strong clarity of goals and leadership evidence will be critical.
I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help! No pressure, no strings - just helpful insights on where you stand and how you can strengthen your chances.

Hi @SKA India. 7 years is good for LBS, INSEAD, and NUS. You are not too old. You’re actually at optimal maturity. Post-MBA goals need sharpening. “Diversified Financial Services” is vague; you need: Buy-side continuation? Private credit? Distressed? Emerging markets strategy? Hedge fund partner track? or Family office? Top schools want ambition and clarity.
Leverage points: Retake GMAT (critical), seek visible leadership at work, lead an investment thesis independently, publish thought leadership (LinkedIn/industry note), and mentor junior analysts formally.
We’d love to learn more about your academic background, extracurricular activities, work experience, and personal journey so that we can provide a tailored profile evaluation and an honest school assessment. Feel free to book an evaluation session.
Hi Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, with 7 years of experience working with US-based hedge funds, you have a strong and relevant background for finance-focused MBA programs, especially for schools like Stern, INSEAD, LBS, and NUS. Your experience in tracking and generating equity and debt investments is directly aligned with your post-MBA goal, which is a plus.
Are you looking for a retake? You should ideally aim for 655+ to be more competitive. Your GPA is decent and not a concern if supported by a stronger GMAT. What will really matter is the scale of capital you’ve worked with, your decision-making authority, leadership experience, and measurable impact. Hi SKA India. I have seen great things happen for people with profiles that are similar to yours. I would also add UCLA Anderson, CBS and possibly Darden to your list. All these schools do a great job preparing people for roles in finance. I'd be happy to talk to your more about your profile. You can reach out for a free consult at this link: https://www.stratusadmissionscounseling ... sultation/
Hey @SKA India, 675 is a decent score for these MBA programs. Depending on your geographic preference, you may even think of a few more. However, it would be helpful to understand a bit more about you, esp college attended, ECs and your leadership roles.
Also, INSEAD & NUS are both very particular on clarity of post MBA goals.
Hope that helps. Please submit your profile for a Free Assessment over a 1:1 call. https://theivyleagueedge.com/index.php/contactus/ _________________ Bala

Hi @SKA India, some more details can help assess your profile better e.g. which companies have you worked in, roles/ functions, key achievements, any promotions, extracurriculars etc.
The right mix of schools would also depend on your career goals, and why exactly you're looking to pursue an MBA.

I recently took the GMAT and achieved a score of 715. I am currently targeting applications to Columbia, Cornell, Duke, and Berkeley. My professional background includes seven years of experience, which includes founding and running a startup. Currently, I serve as a Project Manager for E-commerce within the retail grocery industry at a multinational corporation. I am evaluating my chances of admission to these specific programs, ideally with scholarship opportunities.
To support my application, I have secured two letters of recommendation: one from an MBA alumnus of CEIBS and another from an MBA alumnus of Cornell, both of whom have had distinguished and brilliant careers
The primary area of concern in my application is my undergraduate GPA of 3.2. I am evaluating whether this might significantly impact my chances at top-tier programs. Given this, I am questioning if I should aim for an even higher GMAT score to further compensate for my academic record, or if my current 715 is sufficient to demonstrate my quantitative and analytical readiness for these MBA programs
Hey @@Helzak! You can be a good T15 candidate with selective M7 upside. Your profile sits in an attractive admissions bucket right now: Entrepreneurial & corporate hybrid, digital commerce exposure (high demand post-MBA), mature 7-year experience window, good GMAT signal, and international recommenders with credibility.
Your main risk is not academics; it is story clarity and differentiation.
About the schools: Columbia heavily favors finance and PE pipelines. Your startup + e-commerce angle works IF positioned as a digital transformation/consumer strategy. What helps, NYC retail-tech ecosystem fit and GMAT offsets GPA. Scholarship likelihood, low–moderate (CBS scholarships are limited).
Haas is a competitive target, with strong thematic alignment: Entrepreneurship, tech + commerce, innovation mindset. Haas values: builders, operators, and impact-driven leaders. Your startup background is a major asset here. Scholarship chances can be moderate if essays land well.
Fuqua loves collaborative leadership, operators, international exposure, and mature candidates. Your 7-year+ startup story fits well. Good scholarship probability if storytelling is strong.
Cornell rewards execution-focused leaders, PM/operations profiles, and career clarity. Your background aligns well. Scholarship chances are good for high-potential candidates.
Your 3.2 GPA is NOT a deal breaker. Admissions interpretation: 3.2 GPA, slight academic question, 715 GMAT, good reassurance, 7 yrs work exp. reduces GPA weight significantly. At 7 years of experience, schools evaluate trajectory > undergraduate grades.
What actually determines your outcome now? At your level, admissions decisions hinge on three narrative questions: 1) Why leave entrepreneurship > MBA > next step? Schools must see logical progression, not experimentation. 2) What leadership scale did you reach? Startup founders often undersell impact. Quantify: revenue, users, team size, and failures & pivots. 3) What is your unique leadership lens? Example positioning angles: Digital commerce transformation, emerging market retail innovation, and tech-enabled consumer supply chains.
Scholarships are driven by relative uniqueness, not just scores. You become scholarship competitive when framed as: “Entrepreneur + corporate operator positioned to lead next-gen commerce ecosystems.” Add an impact story, a leadership narrative, and a clear post-MBA path.
You can also explore other schools like Ross, NYU Stern, UCLA, IESE, or LBS.
Questions for you to reflect upon: 1) What happened to the startup? Exit, shutdown, or pivot? 2) Size of team/revenue/user base? 3) Post-MBA goal: consulting, product, or general management? 4) Any international exposure or cross-border work? 5) Promotions or expanded scope in current role?
Hi Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, you bring a solid international diversity plus a strong mix of entrepreneurship, digital transformation, and strategy in e-commerce retail, which plays well for schools like Ross and Haas that value impact-driven leadership and innovation. Your experience leading platform migrations for major grocery chains and previously scaling a luxury automotive startup gives you both operator and founder credibility, that’s a strong angle for a consulting post-MBA goal.
Your GPA is slightly below average for your target programs, but the 715 GMAT helps offset that. With 8 years of work experience, execution depth and measurable impact will matter more than academics at this stage. The key will be clearly articulating why MBA, why consulting and how your retail / digital transformation background positions you for strategy consulting roles. Make sure your essays emphasize scale, cross-functional leadership, and international exposure.
Can you share more details about 1. Size of teams you have led and revenue impact of projects 2. Why consulting now after entrepreneurship 3. Any international exposure beyond Chile 4. Promotions or performance recognition
I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help! No pressure, no strings - just helpful insights on where you stand and how you can strengthen your chances.

Priyanka here from ARINGO.
Questions for you:
1) Have you influenced product roadmap decisions?
2) Any revenue impact from your escalations?
3) Do you have budget authority?
4) Why Europe specifically?
5) Which countries?
6) Long-term entrepreneurship in what domain?
We’d love to learn more about your academic background, extracurricular activities, work experience, and personal journey so that we can provide a tailored profile evaluation and an honest school assessment. Feel free to book an evaluation session.
Cheers!
