was working in citi and now working at a startup at the intersection of supply chain and tech. We have worked with Nestle, Png and unilever in Philippines with my startup, as well as in India. and some of the projects have won awards at a global level.

LORs would be good. one from ceo and one from the vp of international business and alliances

ECs - represented India at ultimate frisbee and was the runner up in state tennis in India. Also setup an program to support underprivileged athletes play sports, currently in its 3rd year. I'm also a top 1% player on chess.com and play the guitar, ukulele and keyboard for fun.
Post MBA goals So I want to start in consulting in the short term and then move into entrepreneurship specifically at the intersection of supply chain and tech in emerging countries. Reason being I have worked with major players in this industry and I have seen how hard it it’ll is for them to carry out digital transformations (we’ve had failed rollouts and stuff like that from which we’ve had to bounce back)and I’d want to be able to build something that even smaller players can benefit from.Consulting will give me insights Into the broader field and help my network.

Hey
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Congratulations on your GMAT. Your profile looks strong and well-balanced that combines brand-name corporate experience, entrepreneurial exposure, and standout extracurriculars, a mix that top MBA programs value.

Your transition from Citi to a startup working with Nestlé, P&G, and Unilever adds significant credibility, it shows you’ve operated at both a structured MNC and a dynamic startup level, with global exposure and tangible results. Focus on emphasizing the "why MBA" and “why now” and the impact narrative behind your supply-chain-tech work. Your ECs, representing India in Ultimate Frisbee, state-level tennis, and founding a sports-access initiative makes your profile multidimensional and leadership driven, the kind of personal depth elite schools look for. Excellent LORs from senior leaders will further boost your case.

Click here to join Jenifer Turtschanow (CEO, ARINGO) for an exclusive session on crafting a high-impact MBA resume, learn what AdComs at top B-schools truly look for beyond job titles.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!

Thanks for sharing your profile @Basque Coffee ! Your 2 years of finance-related experience (corp strategy / IPO work + series funding execution), and a CPA credential in progress, are all valuable. The main headwind is experience level: most top US programs you listed admit classes with ~5-6 years of experience. With a very strong GMAT, crisp impact metrics, standout leadership stories, excellent recommenders, and targeted networking, you can apply in Round 2 2026.

You’ve got the core that Adcoms/ hiring team into consulting likes. The 2 levers that will change your outcomes most are (1) a strong GMAT (target 675, 685+) and (2) a few razor-sharp, quantified stories showing business impact and leadership. Do those two things, and you’ll go from “interesting early profile” to “consulting recruit” in the eyes of top B-schools.

We would love to learn more about your academic background, extracurricular activities, professional experiences, and personal journey so we can offer a more tailored assessment of your profile. Feel free to book a profile evaluation session.

I spent 10+ years in marketing/advertising, leading marketing projects with a specialism in digital - transformation, service design and marketing technology. My clients are primarily government (communications), travel and tourism, and banking. At the same time, i developed a keen interest in topics of the day inspired by clients and work alike: true sustainability, responsible industry/company, and a curiosity in other-market innovation (driven by cultural identities / behaviours).

I've achieved most of my goals currently in creative agencies; being part of the leadership team, orchestrating multi-office proposals and wins, cultivating senior/C-suite relationships, specialist knowledge and at a position to use it constructively.

At the same time, I've been exposed to areas and interests where i believe the rigor of an MBA, and the opportunity of exposure and discourse with professionals and companies beyond my usual sphere of engagement and interaction would be helpful in my growth, as well as solidifying my next career goals - whether entrepreneurship, or moving and supporting a company/industry where i aspire to leave an impact on.

Hi Hemanth
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, you have got a solid academic base with a strong CGPA and early experience at Bosch, but for FT MBA programs - especially at places like Harvard, Wharton, Kellogg, MIT Sloan, etc. your work experience is on the lower end, and you’ll likely be competing with applicants who have 4–6 years plus major leadership impact.

That said, your profile is much better aligned with European Master’s/MiM-style programs (HEC, ESSEC, INSEAD MIM, LBS MIM), where your experience level is perfectly suitable. Your pivot goals- consulting, finance, marketing, and eventually the sports/media/entertainment sector, also fit more naturally with MiM programs, which are designed for early-career professionals transitioning into business roles.

Your extracurriculars add personality, but you will want to show more structured leadership and community involvement for MBAs. If your heart is set on a FT MBA at the top U.S. schools, you may want to gain 1-2 more years of experience with concrete leadership achievements before applying; otherwise, for Master’s programs, you’re already a strong candidate.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!

Hi @Dhanush_Raja
Thanks for reaching out.

So, an 8.98 GPA is very good and you’ve got a good brand credibility via your experience with US Big 4 banks. But you need to provide more context into your work and responsibilities and outcomes. Also, with 4 yrs of experience, you’re already in the typical experience range for many B-Schools. You also have entrepreneurial experience which is a compelling angle to your profile but need to understand how you’ve been able to grow this so far. The additional pursuits will make good narratives for personal statement questions. Also, what’s your post-MBA plan within the tech space? We need to understand this to better assess which schools will be a good feeder for you. So please be specific about your postgrad goals. If you see yourself scaling your startup or something like that then please emphasize that.

As for your GMAT, consider targeting 720+ because this can help you a lot even with scholarships.

We’d love to offer a free 1-on-1 profile evaluation to discuss more about your profile, talk through your fit across schools, and co-create a tailored application game plan!

Hi
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, I see a compelling and well-rounded profile. Strong academics, solid tech experience with a US Big 4 bank, and standout leadership through your state-level entrepreneurship cell role. The music angle adds personality and makes you memorable.

Your goal to stay in tech fits perfectly with your background, and a GMAT around 705 will put you in a highly competitive spot for NUS, Said, and especially Cornell Tech, where your startup + engineering mix aligns really well. Overall, you have a strong, differentiated profile that can do very well once you land that higher GMAT.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!

It was great. My interview was with Adcom. I was not aware about the interviewer prior to call.

Asked about my experience my motivations and my passion. Nothing much. She was well aware of my profile. She had gone through it well in advance and seems she had a copy in front of her also. As she was constantly checking in that and was taking nktes.

Don't stress it's just a conversation and nothing to worry about.

Assistant Manager – Business Finance

I partnered with business leaders across Western India and international merchant portfolios, delivering end-to-end P&L support through planning, forecasting, and performance analysis. I led merchant-level pricing reviews to curb revenue leakages, improved controls, and collaborated on growth opportunities and executive reviews. I also drove financial planning processes, aligning leadership on priorities and resource allocation.

Senior Analyst – Financial Planning and Analysis
I supported the company’s annual valuation through modeling and benchmarking, helping improve outcomes despite headwinds. To advance IPO readiness, I created a KPI Databook consolidating financial, operational, and customer metrics. I also contributed to restructuring the corporate framework to meet regulatory requirements and secure the Payment Aggregator license, enabling merchant onboarding and new revenue streams. I am a 22-year-old Indian male applicant with a B.Tech in Computer Science (GPA 3.71/4.00) and 6 months of full-time experience as a Technology Analyst at one of the Big 3 global private equity firms. In my current role, I have built automation and platform solutions that have saved ~800 hours across two business units and contributed to the design of a scalable gateway architecture that enables easy, role-specific access to enterprise data through natural language queries. I have also delivered training programs on Azure and its services for a 30-member engineering team. During my undergraduate years, I co-founded and served as the Editorial Head of TEDx, where I helped organize a 400+ attendee event featuring speakers such as Shantanu Naidu; his talk from our event is published on the official TEDx YouTube channel and has crossed 150,000 views. I was also selected as one of 100 students (from 1,000 applicants) for the JP Morgan External Engagement Program and served as a coordinator. In campus placements, I received an offer from the UK wing of one of the Big 4 firms, as one of only 15 candidates selected from a nationwide pool of ~5,000 applicants. My post-MBA goal is to transition into product management or consulting, with a long-term focus on technology-driven strategy roles.

I would appreciate a rating of my profile on a scale of 10, along with specific feedback on improvement areas to strengthen my competitiveness for ISB, SPJIMR, and other top global business schools.

I (M26) am a law graduate with strong academics (GPA 3.6/4), multiple publications and notable co-curricular achievements. I bring 2.5 years of political consulting experience managing cross-functional teams across election-going states, and a year overseeing operations in my family’s hospitality business. I have also engaged in legal aid, para-legal work and rural education initiatives. My interests span governance, strategy and data-driven decision-making. I seek an MBA to transition into corporate strategy. Acknowledging my quantitative limits, I have secured a GMAT Focus score of 645. My target schools include ISB, NUS, NTU, HEC Paris, and INSEAD as a reach.

Hi @Mangalvedkar
Thanks for reaching out!

First, the GPA is very strong. Next, your profile has a very unique angle with the political consulting and hospitality business experience and this will keep you apart from other applicants. But while this is your advantage, your 645 GMAT keeps your profile on the fence. ISB may be a target with your current score as they are open to diverse backgrounds and so will NTU. But for NUS, HEC, and INSEAD, you will need to boost the score by another 35-50 points.

The goal you have in mind is fine but you need to explain properly why you want to transition from political consulting and hospitality into corporate strategy. For this, you will have to introspect a lot as AdComs will want to understand your motive behind your planned goals.

We’d love to offer a free 1-on-1 profile evaluation to discuss more about your profile, talk through your fit across schools, and co-create a tailored application game plan!

Hey
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, I see an genuinely interesting and differentiated profile, a law graduate moving into political consulting is already uncommon in the MBA pool, and the fact that you’ve managed cross-functional teams across election campaigns adds a level of complexity and leadership most applicants don’t have.

The year in your family’s hospitality business adds operational exposure, and your legal aid + rural education work strengthens the social-impact dimension of your story. Academically, your GPA with publications and strong co-curriculars helps your case. Your GMAT also looks decent for your target schools. The big selling point is your distinctive blend of law, policy, strategy, and real field leadership, your essays should clearly show how that experience translates into corporate strategy and why an MBA is the right bridge. Focus on building a strong narrative around your application.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!
No pressure, no strings - just helpful insights on where you stand and how you can strengthen your chances.

Thanks for sharing your profile @i40i ! Your profile looks well-positioned with 4 years at a fast-track global consultancy with sponsorship, international client leadership, measurable social-impact leadership, and prior internships in PE/VC/ER are rare + powerful signals. For INSEAD, LBS, and HEC, you have the ingredients: analytic credibility, leadership, international outlook, and social impact. The biggest remaining levers are (1) a good GMAT score (target 665+ FE), (2) crisp, metricized stories showing client impact and team leadership, and (3) very tight, school-specific “Why X” essays that connect your consulting > consulting (or strategy) path.

What adcoms might notice first: Consulting + fast promotion (top 15%), clear leadership trajectory, and high performance under professional metrics. International, cross-boundary stakeholder management = INSEAD/LBS/HEC values global exposure heavily. Social impact leadership & publication = differentiator for interview and scholarship panels. PE/VC/ER internships = strong evidence of commercial curiosity and finance exposure (helps if you mention strategy/PE/VC consulting pathways). These are the load-bearing strengths top European schools look for.

Talking about the school fit:
INSEAD loves fast-moving consultants with global experience and social impact leadership; your profile matches their international cohort and accelerated 10-month program. What matters: target GMAT FE ~665+ (INSEAD class average ~708 classic), bespoke “Why INSEAD” (campus choice, exchange, clubs), and clarity on how INSEAD’s multi-campus, rapid format aligns with your timeline. You can take a look at this blog on How to get into INSEAD.

LBS is recruiter-heavy in consulting and values international candidates with consulting + leadership. They look for 5+ years on average, but 4 years with fast promotion is acceptable if the stories are sharp. Emphasize London/Europe career intent and LBS clubs/treks.

HEC’s September intake attracts experienced applicants (avg ~6 years) but accepts 3-5 year candidates with high impact. HEC’s class average GMAT FE ~645; HEC will value your leadership in diversity & social impact and your commercial internships.

Things to do:
Metricize your consulting impact. Why? Admissions committees want measurable business outcomes. So, for your top 4 stories (client engagement, team leadership, global program design for Women Empowerment, Neurodiversity inclusion, pro-bono research publication), make a one-liner format, so that you can use them in your essays/ interviews.

Clarify post-MBA consulting path (precision matters). Schools want a believable, sequenced plan: short-term role + 3-5 year progression + how the school helps. Pick the exact consulting track (like Strategy at MBB / Tech Strategy at Bain / Internal strategy rotational at Accenture Strategy), name target geographies (Europe, MENA, global), and 2–3 target firms. For each school, add how their resources (labs, clubs, treks) make the plan realistic.

Amplify the social-impact publication. It can be a differentiator. You can prepare a synopsis of the research, your role, findings, and public event reception; have a one-page takeaway you can attach to applications as an achievement.

For LORs: Your 2 recommenders should quantify your “top 5%” performance and international client leadership.

If you'd like, you can also explore schools like IESE, Cambridge Judge, ESADE, or Imperial.

Questions for you to reflect upon:
1) What’s your GMAT plan? Do you have a mock score?
2) Which short-term consulting role do you want immediately post-MBA?
3) Are you open to relocating to Europe/Asia/other?

We would love to learn more about your extracurricular activities, professional experiences, and personal journey so we can offer a more tailored assessment of your profile and evaluate your chances at your target schools more accurately.

Recently, most of the LBS applicants who've worked with Shantanu(INSEAD Alumnus, Admissions Consultant, MBA and Beyond) received Interview Invites. If you’d like a second pair of expert eyes on your essay drafts and want an in-depth evaluation, you’re welcome to book a session with us.

You can also take a look at our latest LBS, HEC, and IESE ESSAY WORKSHOP YouTube video. It might be insightful.

Hi @i40i
Thanks for reaching out.

You’ve got a very commendable profile that makes you very competitive for INSEAD, LBS, and HEC. Working with a T2 consultancy and having a promotion along with a scholarship signifies to the AdCom that you’re professionally competent and that the firm believes in your capabilities. If you can specify the nature of your work (role and responsibilities and impact) then that would give us a better context. You also check both the global exposure and leadership box as well which will be well appreciated by all three schools, especially INSEAD.

But what really brings that ‘distinctive flavour’ to your profile is the social impact and advocacy work you’ve done across women empowerment and neurodiversity inclusion. These will make for wonderful narratives in your essays and will paint you as a well-rounded person.

As for your academic, you are in the top percentile of the applicant pool and stand out as a high achiever. What will really complement this is your GMAT score so ensure you secure somewhere in the 685+ range. Also, have you started attempting mocks? If so, in what range have you been scoring so far?
Finally, you seem to want to stay in the consulting industry post-MBA which is fine but what exactly is the niche you have in mind? Have you mapped out your short and long-term plans?

Based on the information you’ve provided, you make an outstanding candidate to INSEAD, LBS, and HEC. But to figure which best suits your objectives, we will need to understand your future goals in the consulting space.

We’d love to offer a free 1-on-1 profile evaluation to discuss more about your profile, talk through your fit across schools, and co-create a tailored application game plan!

Hey
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, your profile looks strong and well-rounded. Four years at a Tier-2 global consulting firm with fast-track promotion, international experience, and MBA sponsorship already signal strong performance and leadership potential. Your social impact work is also a major asset, leading pro-bono initiatives, contributing to global minority advocacy programs, and authoring a publication under the firm’s brand all show depth, purpose, and maturity beyond typical consulting experience.

The additional internships in PE, VC, and equity research add valuable breadth and reinforce your finance foundation. Academically, an 8.7 GPA, valedictorian honors, and multiple distinctions paint a very strong academic story, and your leadership roles round things out nicely. The only missing piece is the GMAT, a competitive score will be important for your target schools, but given everything else, you’re already a high-potential candidate.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!

Thank you for sharing your profile @Z S! While a 675 GMAT FE score is within range, it can be slightly on the lower end at highly competitive schools like MIT Sloan and Booth.

3.4 GPA is around the average for most top 20 programs. It should not be a red flag as long as you show academic and analytical rigor (quant courses, strong GMAT Quant, work experience with numbers/strategy).

We would love to learn more about your extracurricular activities, professional experience, and personal journey so we can offer a more tailored assessment of your profile and evaluate your chances at your target schools more accurately. Hi
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, with 5 years of experience in the CPG sector and a solid 3.4 GPA, you have a strong professional and academic foundation. Your GMAT score also looks decent for your target schools.

A pivot to consulting is very feasible with your background, schools like Ross and Darden are particularly strong for career switchers into consulting, and they value structured thinking and leadership in fast-paced industries like CPG. If you’ve had any experience managing teams, leading cross-functional projects, or working across markets, that would really strengthen your case.

Could you share more about your current role, team size, leadership scope, or standout achievements? Also, have you had any international exposure or involvement in social/community work? These details would help evaluate your fit at schools like Sloan, which highly values innovation and global impact.

ARINGO is offering a free LinkedIn profile optimization, a great opportunity to sharpen your brand story ahead of application deadlines.
