Hi All,

I gave Gmat last month and scored 570 (V22 & Q47 IR3 and AWA5)

After viewing above score, please help me out which course would be suitable for me to have at least 140 points improvement.
I want to majorly stress on Verbal as I am non-native.
Please suggest....

Hi Andysingh,

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) How have you scored on EACH of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) When are you planning to retake the GMAT?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
6) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

Raising a 570 to a 710+ will likely require at least another 3 months of consistent, guided study - and you'll have to make significant improvements to how you handle BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections. Thankfully, the GMAT is a consistent, predictable Exam, so you CAN train to score at a higher level.

Hi Andysingh,

With 3 months of consistent, guided study, you could potentially improve a great deal. I have a few additional questions about your prior studies and your plans going forward:

1) What were your EXACT scores on EACH of your CATs (including the exact Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
2) Going forward, how many hours do you think you can consistently study each week?

When it comes to studying for the GMAT, there are a variety of different options. Most GMAT Companies offer some type of free materials (practice problems, Trial Accounts, videos, etc.) that you can use to 'test out' a product before you buy it. We have a variety of those resources at our website (www.empowergmat.com). I suggest that you take advantage of all of them then choose the one that best matches your personality, timeline and budget.

If you have any additional questions, then just let me know.

Hi Andysingh,

GMAC has publicly stated that the Official Score that you earn on Test Day is within +/- 30 points of actual ability. Assuming a similar 'swing' in how your CATs function, your 2 CAT scores - along with your Official GMAT Score - show that you essentially performed the same each time (about 570 +/- a few points). As such, "your way" of approaching the GMAT will likely continue to earn you a score in the high-500s. Regardless of which Course you choose, you have to focus on learning and practicing the proper Tactics (and not just plan on working through lots of practice questions in the same ways as before). Thankfully, you have plenty of time to learn, practice and master those skills - so you should put in a couple of days to explore your options and pick the option that you like best.

If you have any additional questions, then you can feel free to contact me directly.
