I applied to Fuqua first round around Early Action. As I was perusing through my Fuqua application, I noticed 3 spelling mistakes in the application portion of the application(ecouraging - instead of encouraging (TWICE!), and monthy - rather than monthly). I used my work laptop to send the application, and it does not highlight misspelled words in red. Even though it is not in my essays, I am terrified that this is going to seriously reflect negatively on my overall application. Is there something that I can do to remedy this?

For the rest of you non-pivot table folks, I'm just having fun with the 25 things essay and am hoping my personality shines through. I think if I over-engineer this with categories, themes, etc my voice will get lost in the process. Just my two cents on how I'm approaching this one...there's obviously no right or wrong way here.
Good luck everyone. A few more weeks for R1..

I think this is the correct approach to take. Fuqua specifically says they want to get to know you beyond your transcripts and your resume. Look at the examples they've provided and I think you'll see this is what they're expecting. I would lean more towards things that come from your personal life unless it gets to passions.
did anyone actually use two whole pages for the 2nd essay (Why duke?)

It actually depends on the font and margins you are using.
With moderate margins 2 pages is around 1200 words (10 point font; 1.5 spacing). I think 750-850 words should explain why duke (you can fit them in 2 pages with 12-13 font).
Saying that, I did use over 1000, because I added a lame story that ran too far into my essay. Kick myself for that now.

If you didn't you probably should be. I mean they have enough stuff in their program for 10 pages, and if you write less than the max, it seems like you have little to say.
Of course formatting tricks can always be used to help you write a bit more or a bit less!
But in general, you should be finding that your first drafts should have MORE than what they want and not less. (so that you can still cut the fat to have a LEAN mean essay)

I used the full two pages. It certainly felt long after having to keep essays at 500 words max for the other schools, but I feel like I had even more I wanted to cover but couldn't. I would agree that the essay should be close to two pages as much shorter would mean that you don't have a lot of compelling reasons for wanting to go to Duke/get an MBA.
P.S: tired of refreshing pages now! cant work obviously.. received an email with the subject: "we have great news for you". Wanted to kill the sender right there!
