Hi all!
I have a tough decision coming up - I was recently accepted by Tuck (without scholarship) as well as by Duke (with a pretty significant scholarship). I love both schools but was more keen on Tuck prior to the decision from Duke. I have spent 5 years in consulting (with a well known firm) and have a GMAT of 770. I would like to go into MBB consulting immediately post MBA as well. Both schools are amazing, collaborative places and I am really struggling with the decision.
Any thoughts? Thank you for reading!
Congrats on your great effort and its results!
Both schools are strong with MBB and a variety of other consulting opportunities. For one, I know Fuqua has a number of MBB full-time staffers sit on campus all year-long recruiting and keeping an eye on the students (they attend classes as well). They are also very approachable and help tremendously with recruiting. Their goal/job, however, is to find the best talent and the best fit - to evaluate you before it is too late and they have hired the wrong person. It is possible Tuck has something similar in terms of their relationship with MBB's.
What I like about Tuck is their smaller alum base and tighter network of Tuckies. I feel some of the larger top 20 have such as a mix of people who are so diverse that reaching through the alum network is a crapshoot most of the time. I have heard that Tuck is different in that regard and has a much tighter community and network... that is of course because you are all stuck in the middle of nowhere

One thing that jumps out is slightly lower average GMAT at Fuqua, which means your 770 may help you standout. People like the comfort of numbers.
I would definitely make a trip to both admit weekends and check the culture. Team Fuqua is a big apparently, as you probably know from your 25 things essay.
