Hi, does anyone have an opinion on taking the EA for R2? Probably wont be able to achieve target GMAT score, but I believe it is achievable in the EA. Was wondering if it places me in a similar ranking of GMAT scorers or if is better to postpone application

Early Action (EA) applications, while offering earlier decisions, can be a strategic move. However, it's crucial to weigh the potential benefits and drawbacks carefully.
Potential Benefits of EA:
Early Decision: Knowing your admissions status early can help you plan your next steps.
Potential for a Stronger Pool: EA rounds often attract a smaller pool of applicants, potentially increasing your chances of admission.
Demonstrates Early Interest: It can signal your strong interest in the program to the admissions committee.
If you're confident in the rest of your application (essays, recommendations, etc.), and believe you can significantly improve your GMAT score by the R2 deadline, applying in R2 might be a better strategy.
However, if you're certain about your current application and want an early decision, applying with EA can be a viable option.

Hi,
It depends on which b-schools you are applying to and what the rest of you profile looks like.
Firstly, not all b-schools accept the EA. So make a check whether your target program does. The other option for you could be to apply to programs that accept the EA
. I'd give this option lesser preference as I feel you should apply to programs for reasons other than convenience. Fit and post MBA employability are more important factors here. A lot more Exec MBAs accept EA scores, id that's where you are planning to applySecondly, EA is generally more acceptable for older applicants who have not been in the study circuit for several years and are out of touch. SO its important to know where you are at this point in your professional life.
