How is that we need a singular subject?
I thought that it is 'EACH' which makes the subject singular(whether plural or singular) and that is why we have to use a singular verb.
Can you please help explain? generis CrackVerbal egmat AjiteshArun GMATNinja daagh
Hi bratbg,

If we are looking at one group of words, we cannot use each before a plural noun (unless we use an of as well). We can, however, use each after a plural subject.

1. Each book ← takes a singular verb
2. Each books ← not possible
3. Each of the book ← not possible
4. Each of the books ← takes a singular verb
5. The book each ← not possible
6. The books each ← takes a plural verb
