I was hoping to get some feedback on what I can do to improve my EMBA candidacy. My goal is to go to the University of Notre Dame's EMBA...I have wanted to attend ND ever since I was young, and as such it is the only program I am truly considering.
[*]Undergrad GPA (Top 100 public university): 2.2 in Public Administration (I know this is the biggest weak spot of my application...I did work in college, but a lot of my problems were due to lack of maturity)
[*]Graduate GPA (Harvard University Extension School): 3.23 in Management Finance
Current Work Experience:
[*]2 years as a marketing strategist with direct independent management of social media marketing and direct report to CFO/CEO of small company
[*]2 years at State Government
[*]2 years at Federal Government with independent management of a $<5MM program budget
[*]1 year in Big 4 Management Consulting (with up to 3 direct reports, depending on project)
Planned Work Experience:
I will most likely stay in my current employment situation before I was to apply to B-School. Ultimately, my goal would be to earn a few promotions before I go for an EMBA, hopefully with "manager" title before I enroll.
Looking to apply in another 5-6 years (so I would have ~12 years of work experience when I enroll). I still need more work experience admittedly, and want some feedback on what I should do to mitigate my understandably bad UGPA as much as possible.
Even though ND does not require the GMAT, I plan to sit for the test to demonstrate my quant abilities, while I have yet to actually sit for the test, I've been scoring in the 670-700 range for practice.
Would love to hear suggestions! Thank you
