FROM The Booth Experience: How Hopeful Entrepreneurs Get Their Start At Booth |
In the first week at Booth, when meeting people for the first time, the norm is to mention where you come from and what you’re looking to recruit into, just to build a base for conversations. Suffice it to say that my introduction (which contained the key phrases “I plan to go back to India … Continue reading How Hopeful Entrepreneurs Get Their Start At Booth → |

FROM The Booth Experience: Local Classes Beyond Booth: Screenwriting |
I was searching for a creative outlet this winter quarter and decided to enroll in a screenwriting class. The thing is, the course was 8.9 miles away from downtown in Edgewater – located in the northernmost part of Chicago and marking the endpoint of the famed Lakeshore Drive. I wouldn’t necessarily call myself a screenwriter … Continue reading Local Classes Beyond Booth: Screenwriting → |

FROM The Booth Experience: Booth in the time of covid-19 |
When I imagined my final quarter at Booth, it looked something like this: I would be relieved of most leadership positions (having passed the torch to the Class of 2021) and finished with my graduation requirements, leaving me to take four purely elective classes (including one at the Law School) and TA for a fifth. … Continue reading Booth in the time of covid-19 → |

FROM Booth Admissions Blog: A Note from Associate Dean of Student Recruitment and Admissions, Donna Swinford, on COVID-19 |
As the world changes around us in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s hard not to feel a sense of uncertainty for our collective future. The most basic priority for each of us in this current moment is to practice social distancing and do what we can to help “flatten the curve.” Though that certainly doesn’t mean that our big picture goals for ourselves—which for many of you include pursuing an MBA—should stop. Instead, I invite you to join me in focusing on the opportunities for connection and pursuit of our goals in these challenging times—even if the approach is a little different than originally anticipated. |
FROM Booth Evening & Weekend Program Blog: A Note from the Associate Dean of Student Recruitment and Admissions on COVID-19 |
As the world changes around us in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s hard not to feel a collective sense of uncertainty for what the weeks ahead might have in store. The most basic priority for each of us in this current moment is to practice social distancing and do our best to ensure the health of our family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors. |
FROM Booth Admissions Blog: Updates for Chicago Booth Scholars Including New Application Deadline and Ways to Engage |
As the world shifts in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we can’t help but feel uncertainty for what the weeks ahead will hold. While our top priority is to ensure the health of our family, friends, classmates, and neighbors, it’s still important to maintain our big picture goals—which, for many, include pursuing an MBA as part of your future career plan. |
FROM The Booth Experience: Spring Break 2020: The Homebody Edition |
With all my flights and plans canceled due to a variety of “shelter-in-place” orders, I’m ready to embark on my next adventure: traveling from my bed to the couch to the kitchen and back to the couch. But it gets a lot more interesting! In this pandemic Spring Break, creativity and learning new things rule. … Continue reading Spring Break 2020: The Homebody Edition → |

FROM The Booth Experience: Mothers At Booth | WOmen’s History Month |
In honor of Women’s History Month, from March 1st to March 31st, 2020, Chicago Booth wants to highlight MBA students who are also mothers. Out of an average class size of 600 students, full-time students embracing motherhood make up less than .9 percent of each cohort. FROM Booth Admissions Blog: Common MBA Admissions Questions About COVID-19 |
Around the world, the last few weeks have brought rapid changes that have pushed all of us to adapt—and to demonstrate our collective resilience as a result. As an institution, this has meant a shared responsibility to keep our community safe, while continuing to deliver an enriching academic experience to our current students. Shifting to largely virtual work has the potential to create distance and dissonance, but we’ve been fortunate to see Chicago Booth’s community continue to connect and creatively engage with one another. |
