For MS in MIS: GMAT 650, almost 7 years of experience

Hello,

GMAT score: 650 , Q47 V32 (3rd attempt)
Under graduate CGPA: 3.32 (B.E in computer science)
Work experience : 7 years in software development industry. I have developed products for clients such as Intel,AT&T, JP Morgan and Schneider electric. I am working as a senior software engineer as of now. Great interest in client interaction and application development .
Extra curricular: Part of an NGO for the last 5 years.I teach English and Maths to school kids during weekends. I have helped a cancer hospice to raise funds through few events.
TOEFL: Yet to write. I hope I can cross 100.
Nationality : Indian
Gender : Male
Age: 29. Hence not planning to write GMAT again

I am planning to apply for MS in MIS or similar courses.

Universities:

Almost impossible: Kelley, CMU, UCLA

Doable: Texas A&M , University of Arizona (Eller), University of Washington (Foster & iSchool)

Have a good chance: University of Maryland College Park (Smith & iSchool) , Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, University of Cincinnati , SUNY Buffalo

What are my chances ?

I think you're accurate in your assessment in terms of your chances at these schools. You didn't mention where your work experience is exactly, but you have a good list of clients & assuming you have some clear impact to show in your work with them I think you have a solid application!

Thanks Jon. I have worked with Aricent, a telecom company and Mphasis, a company owned by Blackstone group.

Good company & there are not tons of applicants coming from telecom, which is a good thing. You are on the upper end in terms of work experience, which can make the adcom nervous, so you'll just want to make sure you have a very strong "why MBA/why our school" argument. That argument also rests in large part of your goals - you want to paint a picture of the impact you plan to have in the future & the skill gaps you need to fill via the MBA to get there.
