Hey bb -- thanks for thinking of mentioning the Lab! :)

Paguro -- I'm actually a sponsor / partner of the Forte program, so if you dig around, you might find a webinar recording or two of mine posted there?

Shivikaa -- these are great questions! I think the Forte Launch program can be especially useful for:

- People applying to multiple schools who will then make use of the fee waivers and so it pays for itself

- People who will take advantage of the "office hours" with admissions reps from various schools -- once you've done your preliminary homework on a program (and, e.g., won't ask something silly during a 1-on-1), those "office hours" can be a great way to get in front of admissions folks

-People who really don't have any support network re: MBA / come from under-represented industries (e.g. past Forte launchers I've worked with that fit into this category include a sommelier and a former professional golfer!). My feeling is that adding something like "Participant, Forte Launch Program" somewhere on the resume can be a signal to adcom readers that hey, even though right now you're from an unexpected field, you really ARE serious about this whole MBA thing!

Now, re: the webinars, etc. not spilling alllll of the secrets you need to know, well, to be candid -- all of the admissions advice "partners" like me have to pay cash money for that sponsorship, and so the goal we ALL have during our webinars is to provide ENOUGH advice to be useful and establish our expertise, but not SO much advice that you think: "Thanks for telling me everything, SUCKER! No need for me to purchase anything you're selling!" -- that is, we want to be legitimately helpful AND YET ALSO recoup our sponsorship investment (business 101 -- hey, that MBA education is starting already, ha ha!)

Unlike the other admissions firms that charge $4,500+ for their packages (and thus can easily recoup the sponsorship fees with, let's say, only 1 or 2 Launchers signing up), since my product costs $315 ($349 - 10% off), I need lots of Launchers to sign up for the Lab just to barely break even. While I'm pretty sure the more expensive firms get a much better financial return on their investment than I do, the reason I keep doing it is because I'm a mission-driven social enterprise, so this sort of "helping women get a seat at the table" thing is right up my alley and MAKES MY HEART GO PITTER-PAT... and also, the Launchers tend to be bright, motivated, inspirational women that I love being able to help.

Finally, with ApplicantLab, it's not an "either / or" thing where EITHER you use the Lab OR you get a consultant -- folks on my team and I are available to provide affordable add-on services, or the Lab can be used in conjunction with another admissions consultant to lower the costs / get a "second opinion" on advice you might be getting elsewhere.

Whew! I hope this helps answer your question? LMK if I missed anything!

Thanks!,
Maria

Hi Shivikaa, I'm currently using the On Demand Program.
I bought it mainly for the fee waivers, since the application fees alone would cost me more than the price of the course. As for the content, bb is spot-on: nice videos, nothing extraordinary - you'll definitely need additional material.
And now I want to try ApplicantLab :)

Thank you for the information. While applying for fee waiver, what supporting documents are provided by Forte?

Sorry Abbie, I don't have that information because I haven't completed the program yet.
If it helps, I can tell you that to get the waivers you have to watch the videos and submit an official GMAT score.

Thanks Paguro,

I am not planning to take GMAT due to waivers given by most schools, but want to enroll in On-Demand program to get good understanding of application process and most importantly, to get fee waivers. I had tried contacting Forte Admin and helpdesk, but no responses so far :(

Thank you ApplicantLab bb Paguro for providing a detailed information.
I am preparing for GRE, not GMAT. Does it get counted in for the waiver of application fees?

In order to get the scholarship from the universities, do we have to be enrolled in this on demand program ?
OR based on the profile, they give the scholarship to the candidates.

Hi Shivikaa, sorry for the late reply - I don't have info on that, unfortunately.
Maybe you could contact Forté directly? They should be able to answer that!

Is there any minimum score for GMAT that has to be submitted?

Hi Maria,

this helps a lot. One more thing I wanted to know about the Forte program is that is there any minimum GMAT requirement to complete the MBA on demand launch program? Kindly suggest. It would be helpful. What if I already have a score(Low gmat score- 540(q48,v17) and then join FORTE to get help on with the application fees.

To be honest, I have no idea if they have a minimum GMAT -- but since GMAT prep resources are provided, I'm guessing they are open to folks with all sorts of scores!

Man, with a 48 quant, if you can get that Verbal up, you should (?) be able to break 700...

... start checking out the Verbal prep resources here on GMATClub RELIGIOUSLY and start practicing a little bit each day NOW, since a re-take for you is a must... and since you know you're going to re-take anyway, start prepping more heavily now.

More "fun" (well, maybe not "fun", but perhaps "less painful" ways to prep) include trying to read and watch as much English TV as you can. It doesn't have to be business news like Bloomberg or CNBC... even immersing yourself as much as possible in more "fun" shows will help improve your intuition for certain aspects of grammar. It does NOT replace the need for ACTUAL studying, but it sure won't hurt!

I have been watching English TV shows since 10 years. I have been listening to English songs since 12 years. I talk to International BA almost everyday. That pains me even more why my score reflected otherwise, but yes, I think I lack comprehension. I am sure I have marked the second closest wrong answer which got my score this bad in verbal. I did not score this bad in my practice tests too.. Let's hope for the best again. Thank you. Your words kind of brought a motivation in me. I was really losing hope after 2 GMAT exams.
