Hello,
I have a gap of about a year in my career and it was a personal choice. I worked in the healthcare industry for more than a year and decided I wanted to shift industries. At this point, I also wanted to work abroad and gain international experience as well as improve my understanding of business fields through some courses and programs.
All of this was accomplished during the gap year including an internship in Egypt where I worked as a business development executive for a period of 6 weeks, and I traveled to Nepal as well in order to improve my international understanding. In addition I have obtained certifications in digital marketing and social media management. I will be aiming for MIM programs in the top universities and would like to know if this gap year (after a work experience of a year) would be detrimental to my application.

MBA programs are more likely to queston you on a gap, but it should be ok for MIM. Just show that you learned a lot of things during this peoriod (not therough certifications only, but real, wolrdly learning) and how thos experiences have made you a more evolved person.
