I have got admission too with $$$ ... :)

However, since I have received similar offers from other schools too, I need to think and make a good decision.

I am from India, with a work exp of 6 years. Statistics aside, anybody could tell me about placements for International students in GWU?

Also, how is the cost of living compared to other parts of the US?

Hi,

Congrats on the admit. You have highlighted the exact things that I was worried about GW myself:
1. Living
2. Placements (esp for International Students)

I received the admissions package which details the amount and of scholarship and all. The complete budget with living seems pretty pricey. :oops:

But overall, how many of you will be matriculating?
Since I have only this admit so far, I am setting my mind to join anyways. :wink: :lol:

congratulation! As far as I know the living expense of D.C is just second to NY Manhattan, but it means more chances, more resources,more opportunities,
the scholarship is used to balance the living cost, I thought, GWU is really generous

For me I guess its offsetting the entire tuition fee. But it'd be better to have an insider point of view. Is any current student a part of this forum??
For the time being though this should serve as a rough estimate https://graduate.admissions.gwu.edu/living-expenses
The second year expenses may be covered by Internships or RAs.. Though I am just estimating.

Is that where they tell you about scholarships? or is it on the first one? I don't know if i will make it to the admitted student weekend but if I do hopefully I will meet some f you. I'm 99% sure i'll take this offer.

Hi daksha17, you are welcome. I m currently based in DC, but I am from Germany. Still waiting for 2 more schools admission results, but at least I am happy with the outcome of GW. My final decision will be made around beginning of April, I think.

What about you? Any other concerns?

I got a admit too. But very less funding. DC and GW fees makes it a very expensive deal. Yet to take a decision.
Can anyone please tell what are the chances of getting a graduate assistanship or RA in GW? I did not find any info on the website regarding this.

Well I am waiting to hear from a few other schools too. And if I do not get any scholarship from them, this would probably be where I'll end up. I am however very sceptic about how great the school is, as I am international student and the only way I can deduce is via the net (rankings and website stuff). Will be talking to a senior currently in GWU now though from what I understand he seems to believe that its an average school. So will let you guys know if I find anything worthwhile.

Hey guys, just got my admission package, but not an email rather a mail, yes, a real package delivered to my address! ;) so please do not keep checking your emails any more, but sit back and wait for the postman :). Basically, the package contains a black folder, within which has your admissions decision, scholarship info, how to pay your deposit, some additional financial assistance info and a GW business school magazine (though was the spring 2013 version), as well as a GW ball pen.
The admitted students weekend is on 28&29 March, who has decided to join?
