Getting its name from the digestive enzyme pepsin, the soft drink Pepsi, is now considered a major contributor to health conditions such as obesity and diabetes ,was originally marketed as a health drink that would aid digestion
A.Getting its name from the digestive enzyme pepsin, the soft drink Pepsi, is now considered a major contributor to health conditions such as obesity and diabetes, was originally marketed as a health drink that would aid digestion -- This has run-on sentence with both "is now considered" and "was originally marketed" in the same sentence.
B. Originally marketed as a health drink, the soft drink Pepsi, named after the digestive enzyme, is now considered a major contributor to health conditions such as obesity and diabetes -- has some info about the main sentence missing ( name of enzyme, reason of marketing as health drink )
C. Considered a major contributor to health conditions such as obesity and diabetes, the soft drink Pepsi, originally marketed as a health drink that would aid digestion, was named after the digestive enzyme pepsin -- flips the main clause with the subordinating clause and changes meaning
D. Originally marketed as a health drink that would aid digestion, the soft drink Pepsi named after the digestive enzyme pepsin, is now considered a major contributor to health conditions such as obesity and diabetes. -- CORRECT modifier placement and meaning
E. Pepsi, a soft drink originally marketed as a health drink that would aid digestion and which was named after the digestive enzyme pepsin, is now considered a major contributor to health conditions such as obesity and diabetes. -- wordy and awkward

Hello, can you please explain how D is correct without a comma separating the drink Pepsi, from the modifier 'named after...'. Is this grammatically valid?
