I hope that happens. But I will disagree on the police’s third degree part here - a nexus this size (& ₹₹₹) will surely get away with just a slap on the wrist.
There are still a few a GMAT “help” ads on Facebook - tells me some are still operating.

Agree. How can someone live/build up their entire career based on fake initial test?
Years of hard-work to get promotions, brand and connections just goes in vain one day.

I assume (hope) that the GMAT cheating began when GMAT Online started, and has never been available for exams taken in exam centres.
The news reports do say the syndicate/gang has been running for years: perhaps that was for other exams, and not for the GMAT?

What makes you guys think that the person is a cheater?
I am reading that they may have paid the deposit to the school, not the cheating right. Did they admit to cheating?

Cancelling all scores post 690 seems a bit exaggerating. As we know most top schools have an average of 720-730. And the students, who literally worked hard on getting a score nearby to the average of top b-schools, are under great loss because of a certain percentage of cheaters. I believe GMAC should investigate the matter before cancelling scores.

Yes, that would be a generalization but I think that's a comment that of the scores canceled most are 690 and above.... but yes, it seems a small number is impacted by score cancelation (I hope)

I came across this post on Reddit this morning. I don't remember the name of the user at this moment. I believe "we" refers to the candidates whose scores were revoked. But what surprised me reading the post was how did the candidate (who posted this) get to know the details of other candidates whose scores were revoked. I am very sure GMAC would not have revealed that data .. Still churning my head around that

P.S - By no means I intend to question the integrity of the candidate who posted this. Wanted to let the group know that GMAC is taking the testing violation seriously and flagging any suspicious activity in the online test. For example, in this case GMAC probably reviewed the test recording 7 months down the lane and sensed some suspicious - that's pretty impressive !

It seems odd that someone would know stats of that breadth and width. Even I don't have that kind of level of insight and I have nothing better to do than hang out on GMAT Club

I am sure BB, most of us are elated to have you here on GC. Regarding the cheaters, GMAC still has a long way to go before putting a stop to all of these illegal operations. And as it is rightly said, "every effect has its aftermath"; the same situation is being encountered by a few test-takers. But hopefully, the damage will be minimal. Fingers crossed.

I don't know if the people whose scores are cancelled are victims or the perpetrators of the scam but it feels good to see "a little bit of justice in the sea of injustice". Quote from a docu-drama about test fraud and admissions fraud in the US, Operation Varsity Blues.

I also wish gmac should publicly shame and name all those. So that future candidate fear from taking shortcuts.

I have received message from these kinda fakesters many times on https://gmatclub.com/chat... Asking them to use their services... I got tempted but never loose my integrity... Although it was very painful to see people who get ahead with cheating... This news has completed rejoiced me... I was damm angry with gmac as I work hard day and night... And some get there that easily...


Although there are still many services out there luring people into similar trap. I hope people take a lesson

But the unfortunate part is, I know a couple of guys from my college https://gmatclub.com/chat group who are innocent but got their scores cancelled probably because of this fuss. It's a very tough situation to be in.
