Also to address an obvious point and question - I am sure someone may be wondering or asking - Isn't $2,000 is really and equivalent of perhaps $10 or $5 per hour?

Yes - the compensation is not the reason you should be picking this internship. If the only reason you are considering it is the $2K, it is the wrong choice. The offer is the opportunity to experience and try what Tech PM is as well as gain pre-MBA PM experience that may mean a difference between getting an internship after the first year or a job after graduation.

While the PM's will be investing their time, GMAT Club will be investing into development time and my personal time, providing each intern with an equivalent of over 100 development hours which carries a far greater cost than the stipend or investment of each of the interns. So the the investment is mutual.

However, if you feel this is not enough of compensation for your time, I completely understand if we cannot afford you and encourage you to seek out more rewarding opportunities.

Thank you for the question.

Unfortunately it will not be possible for anyone without interview invite or admission to apply because of the timeline. It’s really hard to balance multiple items in the air and for someone applying in round three, I suggest focusing on their test prep and doing the best they can in applications.
Thank you bb for letting me know—I completely understand. I’ll focus on my GMAT and applications for now. If any future internship opportunities come up, I would be grateful to be considered.
Thanks again for your time and advice.

Oh, this is an interesting oppourtunity! However, I am not qualified for the same! But here are a few ideas for this product! These are honestly some of the opportunities acc to a person who has been studying for a while now :)

1) AI generated detailed error logs, which banks upon the huge amount of data that students have provided to this community: Basically, I find the process of writing error logs very tedious and time consuming, however, we all understand the relevance of the same. My idea: Why not create a list of probable reason for each question/question type, so that it saves a lot of student's time. I am not talking only about an extremely detailed error log, which lets us either select the exact reasoning, but also a tool that gives and maintains by itself, even if we are lazy about punching in the entries manually, it does the job for us, and maybe articulate our errors better. That would be really cool.

2)A learnings tracker based on the error log: Basically, it takes our errors, and recommends us similar questions (that is generated based on probably the automated error log). With detailed analysis in a dashboard format. Continously showing us the what we have done right, what we have improved upon, and what really kills our score. What will be really fun here will be is treat it like an AI personalised tutor at every step/question of the prep. This AI tutor can also give us way to the videos on YouTube or other platform that can directly help us cover a knowledge gap. Often, finding the right tools/ videos becomes hectic, so this will be really helpful.

3) A tool that will make improvements a reward mechanism, and punishes us accordingly for our bad habbits, even while practicing, so that students get a habit of focused studying, and checks them on their effectiveness. This is a tool almost all, self studying peers would love (ik, it sounds to good to be true) (P.s. I have been reading Atomic habbits and trying to inculcate it in my prep, it somehow, helps..). Definitely will need some more brainstorming for this!

I do have other crazy/ not so crazy ideas, will be happy to discuss them, if it really helps this community and this platform :')

Regards,
Nipunh

Hello BB,

Hope you are doing well!
I know that this role is only for candidates who are admitted or have an interview for business schools, but I am really interested for this role as last year I had a training in PM but unfortunately I was not able to apply for any
intership/APM role. This opportunity could help me get experience and brush up my learning.
Kindly let me know if you could give me a chance to at least apply for it. Willing to negotiate the stipend as I seek learning from this role.

Thank you,
Aditya Srivastava

Hi. This is a pre-MBA internship. Your MBA needs to be starting in the next 6 months to be eligible.

Thank you
BB.

Hello bb,

I hope you are doing well. I would like to provide valuable insights and suggestions to enhance the GMAT Club quizzes and tests, particularly focusing on their adaptiveness and alignment with GMAT’s actual scoring algorithm. Given my extensive experience with the GMAT, including taking the classic GMAT once and the GMAT Focus Edition twice, I have gained deep insights into its intricacies. I recently improved my quant score from the 33rd percentile on classic GMAT to the 100th percentile on the GMAT Focus, making me well-versed in how the scoring system truly works.

Suggestions:

1. Adaptive Algorithm Enhancement: GMAT Club’s quizzes and tests are not adaptive at the section or question level. The GMAT Quant section is highly adaptive and has a very unforgiving scoring algorithm, which no test prep company—including those claiming AI-based solutions—has successfully replicated. By improving adaptiveness, GMAT Club can provide a more realistic test experience.

2. Quality Over Difficulty in Quant Practice: Instead of focusing solely on difficult questions, the platform should emphasize quality. Many candidates never encounter an 805-level question, so ensuring the right mix of difficulty levels will better reflect the actual GMAT experience.

3. Understanding GMAT Scoring Nuances: I have observed score patterns where a candidate can achieve a Q87 despite getting the first question wrong, whereas another candidate can score Q80 despite answering all easy questions correctly and making just one mistake mid-test. These nuances in the GMAT algorithm should be better integrated into GMAT Club’s test experience.

4. Improving Question Quality: I can contribute to refining the quality of questions on GMAT Club, as I have noticed that some questions do not meet GMAC standards. GMAC has rejected several questions from it's own exams in the past, and ensuring quality control would improve the credibility of GMAT Club's practice materials.

5. Staying Updated with Recent GMAT Changes: I am well aware of the recent changes in the GMAT Focus pattern, particularly in the Data Insights (DI) section, where candidates are now consistently seeing two MSR (Multi-Source Reasoning) questions. Given that I have consistently scored in the 100th percentile on MSR on the actual GMAT exam, I can help GMAT Club adapt its content to these updates.

Since my 1-minute video uploaded on YouTube for Product Manager internship application could not fully capture these details, I am providing this detailed response to articulate my contributions more effectively.

Interesting question. We have not seen/had PT applicants but happy to give it a shot. PT/EMBA/FT are good 👍

Hi. If your goal or job after graduation would be product management, you can apply since you’re pursuing the same career track and would be recruiting for largely the same jobs.

Hi. Congrats to your spouse on their Foster admit and experience.

This is a pre-mba internship. So unfortunately they would not fit the requirements.

I usually advise against doing the internship with GMAT Club for first year students as ideally they would intern in a company that can offer them a job after graduation.

Someone asked a good question through a private message - do you need any technical skills or knowledge or prior product manager experience?

Absolutely not. You do not need any prior p.m. experience and this internship is open to people from any background. As mentioned in the description, we’ve had army officers, marketing managers, financial analysts, lawyers and all kinds of folks.

This internship is to give you an idea about what product management is like, give you an advantage for recruiting into this space but you can absolutely decide that it’s not for you after the internship, the only request is that you commit to the time and hours to finish your product.

Hi robert1111,

Thank you for the question. So traditionally this internship has been available only to MBA applicants. This is because of certain level of seniority and experience that they already have. I am happy to consider Master’s applicants as long as they have a minimum of three years of work experience. It’s an easy application so worst case you just get rejected. It shouldn’t take you more than an hour to complete everything.

PS. If you’re planning to apply for a job in the future, you don’t want to make that application conditional on someone replying to you 😇
