NEEDING SOMEONE'S ADVICE!!
My quant is where I want it right now (~Q49), but my verbal is concerning me as of my last GMAT Club score.
My chronology of Verbal prep:
- Spent 6 months going through all 9
MGMAT books and every
OG problem from 2013
*V20 July '19, GMAT Club - my very first score, before doing lots of practice problems
- Spent 2 months doing problems on
Magoosh*V35 Aug '19, GMAT Club - my first legit score, after having done many practice problems
- I wanted to get this up to a 39, so I spent about 3 weeks focusing more heavily on verbal - learning from very-hard level
Magoosh questons and watching
Magoosh videos.
*V28 Sep '19, GMAT Club
- How is this possible? I spent all that time focused on verbal, but my score dropped 7 points?! I know these unofficial mocks aren't super telling, but a 7 point drop is very significant, especially considering I was anticipating doing several points better than my previous 35. With that being said, when reviewing the answers, I shook my head at some of them, since I completely disagreed with either the answer selection or the setup of the question itself. Therefore, I wonder if these verbal mocks are just pretty poor as many reviews suggest. I know one is supposed to take these scores with a grain of salt, but at the same time, a 28 is 12 points below my goal verbal score.
Now I need to strategize how I will proceed. My goal score is a 710, and I will not stop until I have a 690 minimum. My GMAT Club best score is 670 so far.
