i) Z was allowed to board but M was not
Z arrived prior to 3:50 PM but M arrived after that. did M come to gate after Z. Yes

I went for E on this. Not really sure if I got it right though
We are given that a passenger can not board if they violate any of the following rules:
1. Luggage needs to be checked in before 60 minutes of the flight time of 4 PM (i.e. before 3 PM)
2. If you are arriving at the gate after 3:30 PM you should have checked in online before 3:30 PM
3. You need to board before 3:50 PM. Not allowed to board after that
Seems like these are just rules. I couldnt figure anything else out from the information. Let's look at the statement
Statement 1: Zahra was allowed to board but Matteo was not.
This tells us that Zahra did not violate any of the above 3 rules. But Mateo violated atleast one. This would mean-
Zahra could have arrived at the gate before 3:30 PM or she arrived after 3:30 PM but checked in online before that.
Mateo either-
1. Did not check in luggage before 3 PM
2. Arrived after 3:30 PM without checking in online
3. Arrived after 3:50 PM
Since the luggage possibility still exists, we do not know when did Mateo arrive. We don't know when Zahra arrived as well.
So this statement is definitely not sufficient. We can eliminate A and D
Statement 2: Only one of them needed to check in luggage and they did so at 2:45 PM and only one of them checked in online before 3:30 PM
The luggage part does not really add any value apart from telling us that if Mateo was that person, his reason for not boarding was not the luggage rule. Regardless it does not tell us who arrived first at the gate.
The online check in part also does not tell us anything about who came in earlier. Zahra could have come before 3:30 PM and not checked in and Mateo was the one who came in after 3:30 with Online Check In done, but he could have also come after 3:50 PM and hence was not allowed. Or Zahra could be the one who checked in online and came before 3:50 PM but Mateo did not check in but also came after Zahara. There are many possibilities and no definite way of saying who came first.
