CartmansMom
I took the GMAT and scored 695 on my second attempt while aiming for 705+ . I am M 24 from India from a tier 2 IIT (Computer Science - 7.5 CGPA) . I have two years of Software Engineering experience in Japan and I had planned to apply T10/20 MBA programs once I accumulate 1 or 2 years more experience.
I have seen a lot of discussions about how 695 may not equate to 740/750 (98 percentile) once the new pattern’s percentiles are properly calibrated and it may end up being equated to 720-730 . So I am not sure what should be my next move .
Hi
CartmansMom,
You're right to be cautious about the potential impact of the new GMAT pattern on score equivalencies. While it's difficult to predict the exact impact, it's possible that your score might be equated to a slightly lower percentile once the new pattern's percentiles are fully calibrated.
Evaluating Your Options:
Reapply with a Higher Score: If you believe you can significantly improve your GMAT score, retaking the exam and aiming for a higher score can strengthen your application. However, this will require careful consideration of the time and effort involved.
Apply with Your Current Score: Despite the potential impact of the new pattern, your GMAT score of 695 is still competitive for many top-tier MBA programs. You can apply to your target schools if you feel confident in your overall application.
Gain More Experience: If you're concerned about the potential impact of your GMAT score, accumulating additional work experience can strengthen your application and differentiate you from other candidates.
Ultimately, the decision of whether to reapply or proceed with your current application should be based on your circumstances, career goals, and assessment of your strengths and weaknesses. You can
