Hi - My exam is scheduled for 13 July. My quants is at 83, verbal at 80 and DI at 79. Can someone guide what steps do I take to firstly get rid of my silly mistakes, and how to not lose focus while attempting the long passages in RC. In CR I identify the right conclusion, and end up with two answers (the correct and incorrect one) and sometimes end up marking the wrong one. When I mark the incorrect one, I subconsciously know I am marking the incorrect one and yet I end up doing the honour. Any type of assistance would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
Hi Rishabh
Getting rid of silly errors is not easy and any method I say might seem funny at time but it works
1) You must make an
error log for every mock test taken. Make a grid writing the type of mistakes you did such as {Careless reading, Calculation error, clicking wring answer, missing a word, using my own imagination, Don’t know how to do}
Against these mistakes, write down in each test how many mistakes of each type you are making.
2) Go through this log every time you take the next mock test even for 2 mins but read it like a medicine before test and then take next mock test.
If you make your brain conscious enough to notice the types of mistakes you made in previous test, it’s likely that you conscious brain will help you avoid those mistakes in the next one.
To conquer RC, the only good way is to start reading books... Read a book that you like by subject and try to read it at any pace slightly faster than your usual pace. After 1-2 books, I think you concentration should be good. Try to read 50 pages every day thinking it’s RC practice. It helps many
