GMAT Violation-Wallet brought into testing room absent-mindedly

Question

PLEASE HELP.

I received an email from Pearson saying that a wallet was brought inside the testing room.

Generally the test Centre checks everything of the candidate, but in my case they did not check and there was a wallet which was brought into the testing room, quite absent-mindedly on my part and the invigilator saw it after an hour(after IR) and brought it outside .

In my entire life, I have never had any violation reported against me. And I am known within my circle as a person of outstanding character starting from a very young age.

Will this cause a major impact to the business schools that I apply to?

And will I be allowed to retake the GMAT?

I am a little confused since I know what I am as a person and this incident will wrongly label me as a test taker who violated policy.

I am really concerned that it will impact my character which has been without a bad mark all these years.

What will happen to my application to the business schools in this regard?

I'm a little concerned. Was this your wallet? Was your score cancelled? Did they provide any insight into the type of notation that will pop up on your GMAC test taking record

Yes it was my wallet but I did not touch it. Before the exam even began I emptied my pocket on to the table. There was my passport, locker keys and the wallet.

I had no clue that the wallet shouldn't have been there because the invigilator also did not check my pockets or made me read some policy before the test day.

On the Violation report, they wrote "All policy violation may result in a minimum 31 days wait to re-test, canceled to score, notification to school and/or forfeiture of fees."

My only concern is whether in future it will be shown in the Scores which they send to the schools that there was a policy violation in my profile.

But there is the entire video footage which will justify that the invigilator at the test center did not clearly read out the instructions and checked my pockets and the fact that I emptied everything open on to the table proves that I had no other intention. I did not even realize about the wallet until the invigilator took it out after the First break(after IR section )

I have an impeccable Character record all this while and hope this incident doesn't ruin my future.

I would say if this ends up materializing into a real issue I would use the optional essay to address this. Do you have an official score on record that you are comfortable with?

VeritasPrepDozie  I had cancelled the scores of the test in which the event occurred. So I really hope that it isn't displayed in my profile as it would really be unfortunate for me.

I have a 680 score in my hand and had hoped to break 700 so that I could apply to few schools in the 7-15 ranks

I would check online or by calling in what the schools will see when your profile is delivered via GMAC. Do you plan on taking again or is this it?

VeritasPrepDozie  I plan to take it again after applying. I am praying that it doesn't get reflected in the next score else I will go for appeal.
